My Pregnancy So Far...

Friday, 4 May 2018

We’re at the 6 month mark! I say that because who the bloody hell knows what you are going on about when you start talking in weeks, I don’t! I haven’t posted much about my pregnancy yet, mainly because I haven’t had the time, but also because I wanted to try and enjoy it without talking about it every two minutes.

I love it when people take an interest in my baby and of course I don’t mind talking about it all but I’m also the same person I was before there was a small human growing inside of me so I would still like to talk about the random crap I used to.

My first trimester wasn't great, due to the normal reasons. I had nausea constantly and was completely exhausted every minute of the day. It was hard to be excited thinking about how long we had left to go. That coupled with a bit of a scare and a night spent in A&E waiting for an emergency scan it was nice to get the first 12 weeks over and done with.

The second trimester has been much better. The exhaustion has eased slightly and I very rarely get any nausea. My joints still hate me and have been moving all over the place which has been effecting my sleep and how much work I can actually do, but due to my hyper mobility there is genuinely nothing I can do apart from strap them all up. I'm still managing to enjoy this stage a lot more though and I can't get over how big my bump is when I catch my reflection. I don't know how much further my stomach can actually stretch!

Baby has been moving around like mad for the last few weeks and loves to kick down into my bum, which as you can imagine isn’t the comfiest position for me. But all my midwife and consultant appointments have been going great and apart from my health issues I had before, everything seems to be going really well so far. I now can't leave the house without someone commenting on my bump. Top tip - pretend you're not pregnant when someone says something about your clearly pregnant belly and let them squirm for a few seconds, never fails to make me chuckle!

I can’t believe we have only got a few weeks left until we get to meet the baby, it seems so surreal that there will be someone else living in our house soon. We are still undecided on names, we keep thinking we have chosen and then change our mind so if you have any suggestions, let me know in the comments.

We have got most of the big items we need already so I will probably pop a post up about them in the next few weeks and I may start adding a baby haul or two as extra posts now and again on the lead up to their arrival.
