TV Shows You Should Be Binging

Friday, 13 January 2017

Over Christmas and New Year I got a chance to relax and binge watch a few shows. It was awesome getting to literally do nothing for a few days and just pig out in front of the TV after being so busy for  the last few months. I found some awesome shows and thought I would share with you my favourites.

The Path

I stumbled across this show from an Aaron Paul tweet. I love Aaron Paul and was nervous that I wouldn't enjoy this as much as his other work, but it was so good! It centres around a family that is part of a cult but is refusing to admit it. It is scary to see how easy people are manipulated into joining groups like these and I was gripped the whole way through.

Designated Survivor

This one is a little far fetched, what would happen if the whole of the US Congress dies in an attack apart from one guy. Keifer Sutherland plays that guy and even if it is a massive leap that this could actually happen the show itself is really good. After being a big fan of 24 it's strange seeing Sutherland as President but he plays the character so well. I am really looking forward to the next season.

Sherlock

The new season has been shock after shock, if you haven't seen Benedict Cumberbatch playing Sherlock yet, you are missing out. Each episode is 90 minutes and thats still too short. I am on the edge of my seat watching even the slightest of movements from everyone on screen trying to second guess what is happening and I still never guess the twists.

The Missing

I think I have mentioned this show before on here. I was late to the game and only started watching the first season as the second season was finishing in the UK. However that allowed me to binge watch them all at the same time so I didn't have the pain of waiting a whole week for an episode. The twists of each season were massive and I couldn't not put on the next episode every time one ended. Basically, someone is missing, the family and police are trying to find them, such a simple idea but this show is so much more.

Leah Remini Scientology And The Aftermath

This documentary follows Leah Remini (King of Queens) as she fights to reveal the truth of Scientology and tells the story of her escape after decades of being a part of the organisation. Seeing the families ripped apart by Scientology and how it breaks people over and over, it is a really good insight into what is going on inside, arguably, the worlds most controversial 'religion'.

What have you been binge watching lately?

    1. Yes, I was gripped! Such an amazing show. I am not sure how I feel about Gilmore Girls, I used to watch it years ago but haven't really got into the hype over bringing it back. Perhaps I will give it a chance though :)
