Get Summer Ready with Veet

Friday, 23 June 2017

If there is one thing I hate about summer, it's constantly having to be bikini ready for when the hot weather suddenly appears. I have have very dark hair hair so even the slightest bit of growth shows up instantly. The new Beauty Styler from Veet makes getting summer ready a breeze, with one quick and easy to use tool and multiple heads for gentle hair removal.

Walking Through Wales

Monday, 19 June 2017

I love exploring the amazing landscapes we are spoiled with throughout Wales and as part of our Walk All Over Cancer fundraising, my family and I have been trying to get out together as much as possible to keep each other motivated.

Lessons I've Learned About Blogging

Sunday, 11 June 2017

I have been blogging for quite a few years now, with the last 2 making a conscious effort to stay on top of it all. There are a few things that I have realised along the way that I wish I had known at the start. With the ever growing surge of new bloggers here are some things I have learned about blogging...

Escape Rooms Cardiff

Friday, 9 June 2017

This week I got the chance to head down to Escape Rooms Cardiff and try out one of their rooms with some other Welsh Bloggers. I had been dying to try these out for a while but haven't found a time that my friends and I could all make, so this was perfect.

Walk All Over Cancer

Sunday, 4 June 2017

This month myself and 4 of my family members have decided to take part in Walk All Over Cancer in support of Cancer Research UK. We are doing 10,000 steps a day to raise money and I really didn't expect it to be as hard as it has been.

Wednesday Wants with Beauty Bay

Wednesday, 31 May 2017

I am always forever window shopping on my favourite websites and then emptying my basket when I see it would cost a small fortune to buy everything I've added. But it got me thinking I should start a series of Wednesday Wants and do a little wishlist from a shop I have been lusting over that week. So my first instalment is Beauty Bay where I always seem to find awesome products that I never come across anywhere else.

#WearABigIssue Limited Edition Fashion Brand

Tuesday, 30 May 2017

I was contacted a few weeks ago by The Big Issue team to see if I would be interested in helping to support their new fashion launch. The Big Issue Shop have joined forces with graffiti and street artists to create a line of t-shirts that put people and the planet first.

May House Update

Saturday, 27 May 2017

We are nearly at the end of May and lots is happening in the new house at the moment. Over the last few weeks we've managed to get quite a lot done even though before I started looking back it felt like we hadn't got anywhere.

Spectrum #SpotlightOnSpectrum Event

Thursday, 25 May 2017

Last night I was invited by Spectrum, down to Tramshed Tech for an evening of masterclasses and product demonstrations. I have been in awe of Spectrum brushes since I first set eyes on them and the event did not disappoint!

Getting Over Bloggers Block

Saturday, 20 May 2017

Bloggers block is real and for the last few weeks I have been struck down with the horrible curse. Ok that is a bit over the top but its bloody annoying wanting to create content and just not being able to.

The Root Fix Review

Friday, 12 May 2017

When I was contacted by the creators of The Root Fix to see if I wanted to try their spray I couldn't wait. There are a few root touch up products on the market but out of the ones I have tried none of them quite make the mark.

Being a Photographer...

Wednesday, 10 May 2017

When I tell people I am a photographer the usual reaction is "ha, aren't we all, look at this I took with my phone" or "that's cool, but what's your real job". Nobody ever expects that my full time, real life, grown up job is being a photographer and that I run my own studio.

Urban Decay All Nighter Foundation Review

Saturday, 22 April 2017

A few weeks ago I reviewed Urban Decay's Naked Skin Foundation and I wasn't 100% happy with the fit for my skin. I decided to go and give the All Nighter Foundation a go instead and see if it worked any better for me. Bloggers have been raving about it for a while so I had high hopes.

Spill The Beans - Craft Beer Review

Friday, 14 April 2017

As it is #UKCoffeeWeek this week I thought there was no time like the present to crack open a bottle of Brains Brewery's Guest Brewer coffee porter and give you my verdict. As you all know I am a massive coffee lover, so putting coffee in anything will instantly make me want to buy it.

Lush Spa Cardiff Haul

Tuesday, 11 April 2017

When I attended the Lush Spa Cardiff Press Launch a few weeks ago they gave us a little goodie bag on the way out and I couldn't leave without picking up some bits up too. I haven't used any of the products I had from the event so I'm looking forward to trying them all and also popping up a few reviews over the coming weeks.

Awesome Free Fonts For Bloggers

Sunday, 9 April 2017

I am always looking for new fonts to use on here and for different social media posts and I have found quite a few that I love over the last few weeks, so I thought I would share them and give you guys some font inspiration.

My Weekend In Photographs

Monday, 3 April 2017

This weekend I had a few days off to rest and recuperate after a manic couple of weeks at work and at home. It felt like I hadn't slept in forever so just having time to sleep in and not have alarms set was great. Put that with being in Brecon with my family and some Spring sun and it was an awesome weekend.

Lush Spa Cardiff - Press Launch

Friday, 31 March 2017

Last night was the official press launch for Cardiff's new Lush Spa. We have been waiting on tenterhooks for the opening date to be released and when I got the email saying it was ready I did a little dance by myself. I knew it was going to be awesome by how much time and effort they had put into the build, but I don't think I was really prepared for how much time had gone into every little detail. **Spolier Alert** It's AMAZING!!

House Of Junk Wishlist

Wednesday, 29 March 2017

House of Junk Clothing are a company based in Bristol I have loved for a little while. Their clothing is fun and unique and perfect for the up and coming festival/summer season. This wishlist is made up of a mixture of mens and womens items because I sometimes prefer mens fit in tshirts depending on the style and design but also because a lot of their designs have a very androgynous and unisex look.

UPDATE - No7 Youthful Vitamin C Fresh Radiance Essence

Monday, 27 March 2017

I was given this No7 Youthful Vitamin C Fresh Radiance Essence treatment from the fab ladies on the No7 counter, Boot Talbot Green just over 2 weeks ago to see what it was like before it was released. I have never used anything like this before and was really looking forward to giving it a go and seeing if it would give my skin a much needed boost.

Podcasts I'm Listening To

Thursday, 23 March 2017

I am really into podcasts at the moment. I spend a lot of time on my own editing  photos in the studio and the quiet can sometimes really bug me. Having something to listen to that doesn't need me to look at is perfect and it makes a change from music.

Prosecco Flow Event

Monday, 20 March 2017

I started my weekend with a bang by heading down to the Prosecco Flow event in UFit Gym, Cardiff. I was super excited as we were told we were going to be treated to a Yoga session from Yogi Bare plus lots more.

House Update

Thursday, 16 March 2017

I can't believe its finally here! My kitchen has arrived. I have been planning on doing a little house update post for a while but because it was only the fiddly finishing off of jobs being done nothing looked any different. Anyone who knows me, knows how impatient I am so the fact that I have been watching this house being put together for over a year is killing me slowly.

No7 Youthful Vitamin C Fresh Radiance Essence

Sunday, 12 March 2017

This week the lovely Claire and the fab ladies on the No7 counter in Boots Talbot Green gave me a sneak peek at their brand new Vitamin C, 2 week treatment. There is lots of excitement with this product and I can't wait to see the end result.

Back To Vlogging

Friday, 10 March 2017

I have finally started vlogging again. It's been quite difficult to find time to vlog after I was out of the routine of it. Learning to vlog with my other arm after my shoulder situation has been weird too but I think I got the hang of it in the end.

Urban Decay Naked Skin Foundation

Sunday, 5 March 2017

I had Urban Decay Naked Skin Foundation for my birthday last month. I still don't have a foundation that I can truly say both matches my skin colour and is the perfect consistency so before having this I was mixing a bit of Benefit Hello Flawless and Dior Forever together to try and make my own.

Life Update

Thursday, 2 March 2017

I always find as soon as I am on a good roll with the blog and finally starting to get somewhere, life gets in the way and I struggle to keep up. February was one of those times. I was getting into the flow of posting 3 times a week and keeping up with social media and then, bang, it all falls apart again.

NYX Cosmetics Ombre Blush

Monday, 13 February 2017

I had birthday money burning a hole in my pocket over the last 2 weeks so I took a little trip to the NYX counter in Boots to pick up a few bits that I have had my eye on. I don't really stray from Benefit for my blush but this looked such a nice colour I couldn't leave it there.

To Be Read February

Friday, 10 February 2017

The last few weeks I have managed to get through so many books, mainly because I have been addicted to the Red Queen Series and couldn't put them down. I've had another delivery this morning so now I have another pile of books to be read this month.

Beauty Wishlist feat Urban Decay, Too Faced & Kat Von D

Wednesday, 8 February 2017

I haven't had a proper make up splurge in a long time. Mainly because buying and renovating a house is expensive so any spare bit of cash we have goes straight into the house. But I can't help but window shop every now and again and there has been lots of products over the last few weeks that I have been lusting over.

25 Things I've Learned In 25 Years

Monday, 6 February 2017

I turned 25 yesterday and was rather depressed about being eligible to join the 'overs' category if I ever decided to audition for the X Factor. When you are a kid 25 sounds ancient and after not really thinking about it before, it suddenly dawned on me that I would be turning a quarter of a century old. It also got me to thinking about what I had learned in my wise old age...

Benefit GALifornia Blush

Thursday, 2 February 2017

This month brings the release of Benefit Cosmetics' GALifornia Blush and I couldn't have got any more excited when I got my hands on one early!

Vocation Brewery IPA Tasting

Sunday, 29 January 2017

One of my blogging 'goals' for this year was to branch out a bit from the usual on the blog. I was a bit bored of being constrained to certain subjects and topics because I felt it fitted with the 'blog brand'. So I made a conscious effort to start paying more attention to the sort of content that I was drawn towards and also just what I was enjoying in day to day life. One of those things was craft beer, my brother in law Frankie is obsessed with trying out craft beers and ales whenever we find new ones and I really started to enjoy tasting them too. So just before Christmas I got chatting to him about starting a a beer blog of his own (still working on it) but thought I would ease him in by getting to help me out on this post.

Benefit - They're Real Eyeshadows and Lipsticks

Wednesday, 25 January 2017

I was invited to Benefit, Boots Talbot Green this week for the launch of their new They're Real range. Unfortunately I can't got to the event which I was gutted about as it sounds like it's going to be awesome. But the awesome Benebabes from the counter gave me a sneak peak of my own instead.

Chicken Stir fry - Slimming World Style

Monday, 23 January 2017

Over the last few months my diet has taken a drastic change. My husband decided that he was going to lose some weight and that he was going to join Slimming World. Now being the only other person living in the house (apart from Pugsey) and the one that mainly does the cooking it would be stupid to be making different food for me than Nick. So kind of by accident I have been eating Slimming World meals.

Red Queen - Victoria Aveyard

Friday, 20 January 2017

This is a world divided by blood - red or silver.
The Reds are commoners, ruled by a Silver elite in possession of god-like superpowers. And to Mare Barrow, a seventeen-year-old Red girl from the poverty-stricken Stilts, it seems like nothing will ever change.
That is, until she finds herself working in the Silver Palace. Here, surrounded by the people she hates the most, Mare discovers that, despite her red blood, she possesses a deadly power of her own. One that threatens to destroy the balance of power.
Fearful of Mare's potential, the Silvers hide her in plain view, declaring her a long-lost Silver princess, now engaged to a Silver prince. Despite knowing that one misstep would mean her death, Mare works silently to help the Red Guard, a militant resistance group, and bring down the Silver regime.
But this is a world of betrayal and lies, and Mare has entered a dangerous dance - Reds against Silvers, prince against prince, and Mare against her own heart . . .

Photographing A Boudoir Session

Monday, 16 January 2017

As lots of you already know I run my own photography studio as my main job. I love my job and I am so lucky that I get to photograph so many different genres. Over the last few weeks I have been shooting a lot of Boudoir sessions ready for Valentines Day and it is great seeing so many women getting body confident for their significant others.

TV Shows You Should Be Binging

Friday, 13 January 2017

Over Christmas and New Year I got a chance to relax and binge watch a few shows. It was awesome getting to literally do nothing for a few days and just pig out in front of the TV after being so busy for  the last few months. I found some awesome shows and thought I would share with you my favourites.

Winter Skincare

Wednesday, 11 January 2017

There is nothing worse than your skin feeling dry and irritated by the cold weather during the winter. I have been struggling to keep moisturised and found a few products have been working wonders. With the weather taking a turn for the worst by the end of the week I thought I would share with you my favourites.

Monday, 2 January 2017

And so it begins, 2017. For so many people, all over the world 2016 has been an terrible year. More than ever people couldn't wait to see the back of it and look forward to getting to work on the weird new time we are living in.
