The Piano Man Project - Kat French

Tuesday, 20 December 2016

I have been having a nightmare getting to sleep the last few weeks, after being ill my whole body clock situation has been ridiculous. So I took the opportunity to catch up on some reading because even though I have an ever growing pile of unread books, I can't seem to stop buying new ones.

You: kind, piano-playing sex god
Me: hopelessly romantic charity shop manager

Honeysuckle Jones has a problem, and her best friends Nell and Tash are on a mission to help her solve it. She needs a man – a caring, intelligent, funny man. But most importantly, a man who’s good with his hands…
Luckily Honey’s new neighbour – moody, antisocial ex-chef Hal – fails on almost every count. Even though the chemistry between them is electric, he’s obviously wrong for her in every way.
But when Honey discovers the devastating reason for his moods she decides to give him another chance. And discovers that the best songs aren’t always in tune…
The Piano Man Project was a great read and I ended up finishing it in 2 sittings. Honey, a charity shop worker with a problem of the male variety, gets a new neighbour across the hall. He's rude and arrogant and ultimately you will start to love him just as much as she does.

When I first started reading Honey and Hal's story I hated both characters. She seemed like the typical dumb blonde and he was just a grouch. As the story evolved I rooted for them both in equal measure, there was a definite character arch and French wrote these characters so well.

I don't want to say too much as there are elements of this story that you will want to discover for yourself, but if you are looking for equal amounts of comedy and romance with a great story to go along with it, this one is for you.

What have you read recently that you have loved?

  1. I've been lacking so much lately when it comes to reading, I have no clue why but it sucks! The amount of unread books I own is at least 100 but I've still added this one to my "to buy" list too haha! x
