City Sirens Christmas Gig

Sunday, 4 December 2016

Last night the City Sirens held their Christmas gig in St Margret's Church, Roath. For those of you that may not have heard of the City Sirens, they are an all female a capella group from Cardiff. They perform a mixture of music from choral pieces to pop all in 3 part harmonies.
I was blown away by how big the sound was from such a small group of people, they filled the church without any need for any backing music. The harmonies were beautiful and the arrangements of the songs were great. Some of the songs took a little while to realise what they were, they took classic Christmas songs and completely made them their own which I loved. At the end of the performance we even got a chance to sing along and it filled me with so must festive cheer. Looking around the room everyone had a massive grin on their face as they sang along and got in the Christmas spirit.

It was a great event that not only brought people together but helped raise some money for the church it was being held in, which is awesome! You can find out lots more about the City Sirens here, don't forget to follow them on Facebook and Twitter so you get to one of their next gigs, you won't be disappointed, they are definitely the best choir to come out of South Wales in a long time!
