Blog Plans for 2017

Friday, 23 December 2016

This year has been quite a different one for the blog but the growth has been great. I didn't expect to be able to achieve half as much as I did and a post looking back will be up in the next few days but for now I can't wait to see what 2017 will bring.

I've mentioned this in a previous post but I am hoping to be self hosted by early next year. It will mean that I have a lot more control over design and overall feel of the blog and help me take it to the next level. I haven't quite got my head around it all yet and hopefully with this bit of time I have off over Xmas I will be able to get the bulk of it sorted.

I am also hoping to build a stronger following. In previous years I have been so concentrated on numbers but this year I have really tried to create a following that comes back and engages with me and my content. It meant that numbers weren't as good as they were but the people that were coming to read my blog, stayed and read a few posts at a time and commented and shared them too. I have built relationships with people and that is far better than a million views on a post.

Scheduling is something that I have been using more and more often, especially with Blogmas. I am going to try and plan a month in advance and schedule my posts to go live so that I have more time to concentrate on social media and creating content for other projects like my YouTube channel which has been neglected.

I would love to branch out and post on a wider range of subjects. I love traveling and hopefully if I can get my camper sorted this year I will be able to get out and about more. I finally chose my kitchen and have walls in my new house so moving seems a little closer now too so I'm sure there will be lots of posts on how I have decorated etc. But also smaller things like craft beer, I love trying different craft beers with my sisters boyfriend who is always finding new quirky breweries, so I am hoping to start featuring some on here along with loads of other ideas. Basically it's not going to be just a bog standard beauty and lifestyle blog anymore, I have so many hobbies and interests and I would love to share them all with you!

What are your blog goals for 2017?

  1. Scheduling posts is my lifesaver! Working 5 days a week but still keeping on top of posting 3 times a week can be a struggle without it. It sounds like an exciting year ahead of you, all the best!
