Christmas At The Grape And Olive Blogger Event

Wednesday, 16 November 2016

I was very lucky to be invited to the blogger and press launch of The Grape And Olive Swansea's Christmas and Festive menus this week. I have never been to the restaurant before so when the invite came I was super excited to be able to go and give the menu a taste with some other welsh bloggers.

On arrival we were given a glass of bubbly and had a bit of time to have a chat and catch up with everyone. It was a particularly foggy night but the view from the 28th floor was amazing. Swansea looked beautiful all lit up I could have stared out the window all night but the menu looked delicious so I couldn't wait to tuck in.

We started with the Fig and Goats Cheese Tart, Smoked Salmon Soufflé, Grilled Camembert and Potato and Leek Soup. I wasn't the biggest fan of the tart but that was just me being a fussy eater and not liking figs or goats cheese, but yay for me actually trying it like an adult, everything else was beautiful! I particularly loved the soup, and the tiny mug it came in!

Then we had Beef Wellington and Roast Fillet of Hake, both again were beautiful and nobody in the room had anything bad to say. The mash with the hake was so creamy and full of flavour and the sauce perfectly complimented the fish.

Unfortunately the event did run a little over and I couldn't stay for dessert which I was gutted about but they looked amazing on the way out so I am sure they were just as good as the first two courses.

I had an awesome night, caught up with some bloggers I haven't seen in a while and also met some lovely bloggers for the first time. The atmosphere was great and everyone looked like they were having a great time. The Grape and Olive is definitely worth a visit, beautiful food and amazing views, a big thank you to them for the invite!
