Drugstore Foundation Comparison

Wednesday, 25 May 2016

I am always looking for a drugstore foundation that comes close to the coverage I get from my high end foundations, for everyday wear and to save my bank balance. I have very pale, combination skin and a lot of drugstore foundations tend to give me break outs or just not sit right on my skin.

L'Oréal Infallible 24H-Matte - This is probably the best out of the 3 foundations. It has quite a good coverage and stays put during the day, I don't know if its quite the 24 hour that the packaging boasts but it does last well. It didn't dry cakey like a lot of the cheaper mattifying products tend to do, and overall it was a wearable product.

Maybelline Super Stay 24H - I hated this product, obviously everyone's skin is different, but this was not for me. It sat on top of my skin and didn't blend at all. The consistency was quite greasy and not mattifying, It slid off my skin within minutes of application. This was probably the worst foundation I have ever tried.

Rimmel Stay Matte - This has a much thicker consistency than I am used to. Again I wasn't thrilled by this product, it had an ok coverage and staying power. On its own, I don't feel I would get a lot of use for it, but when mixed with the L'Oréal foundation they became a high coverage, long wear foundation that I could use a lot easier.

Do you have a favourite drugstore foundation?

  1. I haven't tried all of these, but I love the Infallible matte foundation - it is one of my go-to foundations for daily wear! :) xxx

    1. Yeah, it's definitely the most wearable out of the ones I've tried. Still finding it difficult to find one that comes close to high end coverage and wearability though.

  2. I personally love the Rimmel stay matte foundation but I have super duper oily skin so that's why it works well for me! Have not tried the other 2, great reviews! XO -Kim

    1. Thats great! I can see why people would love it, it just didn't work well with my skin on its own :( Thanks!
