Dream A Little Dream, Giovanna Fletcher

Sunday, 2 August 2015

Sarah is doing just fine. Sure she's been single for the last five years, and has to spend an uncomfortable amount of time around her ex-boyfriend, his perfect new girlfriend and all their mutual friends. And yes, her job as a PA to one of the most disgusting men in London is mind-numbingly tedious and her career is a constant disappointment to her mother. But it's really okay. She's happy (ish).
So it's not surprising that when Sarah starts dreaming about a handsome stranger, she begins to look forward to falling asleep every night. Reality isn't nearly as exciting. That is until her dream-stranger makes an unexpected real-life appearance, leaving Sarah questioning everything she thought she wanted.
Because no one ever really finds the person of their dreams... do they?

As many of you already know, I am a massive Giovanna fan. I love her writing and her vlogs (and maybe her husband a little too), and I was so excited to get my hands on a copy of her newest book. I have read Billy and Me (as well as the Christmas edition) and You're The One That I Want and really enjoyed them all.

Like with all of Fletcher's books, the characters are really well written and are instantly relatable. Dream A Little Dream mixes the romance and comedy, with heart break and determination. I wasn't a massive lover of the whole dream situation at the start but I grew to really enjoy those parts. I also found the celebrity name dropping a little cringe and unnecessary but easy enough to skim over. And, like with every other book of hers I have read, I was left wondering what happens to everyone next, not wanting it to end.

I feel like this is a perfect holiday/summer read. It was a nice easy read, but was enough of a story to keep you wanting more. I say it at the end of every review of Giovanna Fletcher's books, but I am looking forward to the next one already!
