Disney Series - Booking and Planning

Tuesday, 30 June 2015

(Source)
On 3rd September, myself and my boyfriend Shane are going to Disneyworld Florida. Booking and planning a Disneyworld holiday can often be very stressful as there is so much to do. I am going to start a Disney Series, where I will share any tips and tricks that I have found useful whilst planning my holiday to Disneyworld.

To start things off, I am going to talk about booking and planning a Disneyworld holiday. Myself and my boyfriend had spent weeks trawling through the internet trying to find the best deals. After searching through what seemed like every website, we came across Kenwood Travel. A few people had recommended this site to me and I found that it actually offered the best deal, including flights, fifteen nights at the Disney All-Star Sport Resort, transfers and tickets to all of the Disney parks, water parks, Universal Studios, Islands of Adventure, Seaworld, Wet 'n Wild and Aquatica, which I thought was a bargain, as I knew I needed to visit each of these parks.

We are now in the process of making restaurant reservations and fastpass reservations. We have currently booked; Tony's Town Square Restaurant in Magic Kingdom, Rainforest Cafe at Animal Kingdom, Hollywood & Vine in Hollywood Studios, with VIP seats to Fantasmic, Raglan Road Irish Pub and Restaurant in Downtown Disney and finally, Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater Restaurant in Hollywood Studios.

If anyone has any recommendations for any of the parks, let me know!

Benefit Eyeliner and Mascara Launch

Sunday, 28 June 2015

Benefit released their new range of coloured mascaras and eyeliners yesterday. Anyone who knows me, know how much I love bright and bold colours and the girls on the counter in Boots, Queen St booked me in weeks in advance so I had a slot to go in yesterday for a little trial of them all.

I went for a green eyeliner and blue mascara and even though I can already feel most of you cringing reading this, I loved it! The colours are not as bright as I was expecting but they are a lot easier to pair with a more subtle eyeshadow or makeup look than a lot of the coloured mascaras on the market at the moment.

The mascaras come in blue, brown and the black that has been around for a while and the eyeliners come in blue, green, purple, brown and again, the black that was released a few months back. I loved the brighter colours and think they would be perfect to add a bit of colour to any look.

They also do a special remover as they pretty bulletproof products. I tried getting the swatches off the back of my hand and they would not budge, so I ended up cracking open the remover.

The eyeliners are £18.50 and the mascaras are £19.50. The remover which I would recommend if you don't want to scrub your eyelids off is £14.50.

What is your favourite colour from the new range?

BENUGO - Review

When we were in London earlier this week, myself and my sister Kristie stumbled on a place called BENUGO. As we waled up the street we could smell something really good and as we got closer we realised it was this cafe. When we walked in we were greeted with an industrial style cafe with the friendliest staff. They came straight over to us when we were eyeing up the menu and let us know what the specials that day were.

Kristie had the Italian Deli Ciabatta which she really enjoyed and it looked lovely, she had eaten too much junk on the way up though and ended up wrapping the second half up to eat on the way home.

I had the Fish Finger Ciabatta with Tartar Sauce and Lettuce, which was one of the specials and it was so nice. Mine was gone in a flash and the sparkling lemon juice washed it down lovely. BENUGO is definitely somewhere I would recommend if you are looking for a nice, cheap and easy lunch.

Where are your favourite places to have lunch in London?

Paul Mitchell Big Night Out Blogger Event

Friday, 26 June 2015

We have had a week of events this week, and there are still more to go! Last night Savannah and I ventured over to the beautiful Saint Davids Hotel in Cardiff Bay for the Paul Mitchell Big Night Out Event. New CID Cosmetics were also there to do our makeup and give us a little preview of all their new products.

When we arrived we were given a glass of Prosecco and offered some canap├ęs. Me being the sump that I am, could not resist the mini yorkshire puddings and I'm pretty sure I ate most of them to myself. We met the other bloggers, who were all really lovely, and swapped twitter handles because for the first time in a long time we hadn't met any of the other bloggers at the event.

Then it was on to the main event. The hairstylist from Paul Mitchell started working her magic while the makeup artist started talking us through the products. They were both so talented, it's all me and Savannah talked about on the way home. Each person worked so quickly and made it look so easy and the results were flawless. While there was a person in each chair we all congregated on the bed to watch them get made over and talk all things blog.

There were so many people to get through me and Savannah decided that I would have my makeup done and she would get her hair done so that we could write about both but not take up too much of everyone elses time.

I loved my makeup. the foundation was a little too dark for me and was the lightest shade but it would be perfect for the next few months when I get a little bit of colour in me. My favourite product he used on me though was the concealer/highlighter. This did match me perfectly and really did make a massive difference in the overall look.

After watching the other girls at the event get their hair done, I was busting for the stylist to do mine. She was incredibly talented and actually made a flower out of one of the girls hair, amazing. I sat on the chair and she asked me what I would like to have done. My hair is quite long now and I knew I wanted something with a plait, as this would be perfect for summer. She worked so quick and done a huge plait starting from the front of my head right around to the back, she then pulled at a few pieces to make it look a little bit more effortless. I couldn't believe how amazing it looked, I loved it. I wish I could of brought her home with me to style my hair everyday.

After we went out onto the balcony to make the most of the beautiful venue and the setting sun we were given goodie bags. It had the Ultimate Colour Repair Shampoo, Conditioner and Triple Rescue Spray. A gorgeous rose gold Paul Mitchell hair brush and a New CID Lipgloss.

We had a great night and it felt really good to just relax and have a girly evening with some great company. I can't wait to get trying all of our new products.

Stela 9 Pop Up Press Launch

Thursday, 25 June 2015

This week we were invited to the press launch for Stela 9's pop up store in Soho.

'Stela 9 is a lifestyle brand with production based in Antigua, Guatemala. The brand works with local artisans to develop handmade clothing and accessories that preserve and showcase Guatemalan weaving and handicraft traditions. Steal 9 is carried at over 400 boutiques worldwide, including retailers such as Urban Outfitters and Anthropologie.'

When we walked in we were welcomed to a colourful room with a glass of champagne. I was taken aback by how amazingly beautiful all the fabrics were, they showed us around and gave us a little back story to each collection. Everything is hand made and because most of the products are made from repurposed native clothing, nearly everything in the room was one of a kind. There are some pieces of clothing that are made in bulk and therefore identical but lots of it was unique, which I loved!

I loved the bags, they are perfect for festivals and the summer in general. The quality and detail in each piece is phenomenal and well worth every penny. Of course we couldn't leave empty handed, if I had the money I would have bought one of everything! We purchased a belt each that came in these beautiful little bags. Each one was a different size as again, they are all unique, so we took a while trying each one on for the best fit.

As we were about to leave we were then given a goody bag each, with one of their beautiful woven bags in, that I can't wait to use! Everyone was so helpful and lovely and really took the time to answer all of our questions and help us choose what items to get.

I am now a massive fan of this brand! Their mission statement and everything they do is so great, I will definitely be purchasing more.

What are you loving from Stela 9?

Baby Shower

Wednesday, 24 June 2015

This weekend was an extremely busy one in my house. My sister is currently seven months pregnant and expecting her first child, which is a girl. I am so excited to become an auntie and decided to throw a baby shower for my sister on Sunday afternoon. This baby shower took weeks of planning as I wanted it to be really special, each week I was picking up various pink decorations to decorate the hall.

I used a mixture of 'baby shower' banners and balloons to decorate the majority of the hall. I also bought twelve pink tablecloths to decorate each table. On each table I made my own decorations which included; a little pink basket, which was filled with pink and white marshmallows. I also used a small silver pot which was filled with pink tissue paper, I then took a pink and white straw and clipped a peg with a picture of a baby to the top of the straw. In this pot, I also placed a plastic pink rose and then tied a ribbon around the outside of the pot with a small message which said 'Thanks For Making Me Bloom', I thought this decoration really brought the tables to life and made them look so pretty.

I also made a few of my own banners, my favourite was this clothes line banner. For this, I cut out templates of baby grows on both pink and white paper and then cut out letters for her name, which as you can see is 'Ava'. I then laminated these and placed them onto a washing line using pegs.

During the baby shower, we also played a few games, which I found on Pinterest. The first game we played was 'Guess the Size', this involved each team taking a piece of string and guessing the size of the baby bump.  We then moved on to the 'Guess the Chocolate' game, for this, each team was given five nappies which had different chocolate fillings, you can imagine what this looked like, haha. Each team would then have to smell or even lick the chocolate and guess which chocolate it was, this game was hysterical to watch and everyone was in fits of laughter. The next game we played involved each team nominating one person to be a model, the remaining members of the team would then have to take a roll of toilet paper and try to make a nappy on the model, as you can see the men really enjoyed this game, haha. The last game we played was a balloon game. Each team had five players and one by one each player would have to blow up a balloon and quickly put it under their top to form a baby bump, the next player in the team would then have to do the same. Once each player on the team had blown up their balloon and placed it under their T-shirt, they had to try and pop their balloons using each other, this game was so funny and everyone got extremely competitive.

I thoroughly enjoyed planning and carrying out this baby shower and everyone said that they really enjoyed themselves, which is always nice to hear.

Vintage Country Market, Bonvilston Cardiff

Monday, 22 June 2015

It has been a manic weekend for us at Wanderlust Daydreaming. After the blog hit 1000 followers on Bloglovin (Giveaway Here) everything has just seemed to snowball. And on top of that we had family events and work all throw in to the mix as well. Even though it was partly for work, I did get to go to this lovely little vintage market on Saturday, just outside of Cardiff.

The Buttercream Pantry are a company that I work with for my business but they make the best cakes! Lisa is so talented and you should definitely go check out her Facebook, I personally recommend the lemon cupcakes.

I also picked up a few of these driftwood mushrooms to use in my next set in the studio, which is quite possibly going to be fairy themed.

There were so many cute furniture stalls and everything was really fairly priced. I loved the wooden storage boxes and everyone was slightly different.

And of course I loved Lilo's Campervan and Blodwyn the Caravan. Lilo's sell pasta and fajitas and they seem to pop up at lots of events that I go to. And Blodwyn is available to hire!

Did you go to any quirky events this weekend?

The Bodyguard Musical - Review

Friday, 19 June 2015

Today I thought I would do a slightly different post to what I normally would do. On Tuesday night, my mother very kindly treated my sister and I with tickets to see 'The Bodyguard - The Musical' in Cardiff Millennium Centre. My mother also came along to see the show. If you weren't aware, I am OBSESSED with musicals, I love them and going to see a show is probably one of my favourite things to do. We had really good seats in the theatre and we could see the stage perfectly. If you weren't familiar with the story of 'The Bodyguard', it's about a recently turned bodyguard that used to be a secret service agent, his name is Frank Farmer. Frank is hired to protect Rachel Marron, who is a global superstar, from an unknown stalker. They both clash at first and really don't get on but things then take a romantic turn.

This musical is also a film and features both Kevin Costner and Whitney Houston.  Alexandra Burke took the lead role of Rachel Marron and completely blew me away, her voice is amazing. Each of the cast members suited their roles perfectly and did an amazing job. All of the songs in this musical are by Whitney Houston and includes many classics, such as 'I Wanna Dance With Somebody', 'I Have Nothing' and of course 'I Will Always Love You'. I have always loved Whitney Houston and her music, so I knew this musical would not disappoint. At the end of the musical, Alexandra Burke had everyone up dancing in the audience which was so much fun and really ended the night on a high. I really recommend this musical and would definitely go and see it again.
