Currently Watching - American Netflix Edition

Wednesday, 6 May 2015

If you, like me, are a serial binge watcher you would have gotten board with Netflix within the first few months. Once in a while a new season of an awesome TV show springs up or a film that you forgot to go to the cinema to see gets uploaded. But more often than not I find myself scrolling through the same title images. Then came the wonder that is American Netflix. Now, this is technically illegal but when questioned about it, Netflix said that they would not investigate or consciously seek out people who are using VPN's to connect to other countries libraries. Whilst the companies that supply the licences weren't that happy about it, I took that to mean Netflix was on our side and proceeded to download a VPN and connect to the American site.

There are so many more documentaries about anything you can imagine, the TV series' have more seasons, they have newer films and, in general, a lot more for their money. So here is what I have been watching recently.

Peaky Blinders

This has got to be my new favourite show at the moment, I remember my grandparents telling me to watch it when it first got aired on TV but I'd missed the first few episodes and didn't really fancy it. But I'm so glad I gave it a go, the first season is on British Netflix but America has the second season too.

Yes, we have all seen every episode of Friends a million and one times and guess what, it's still as hilarious as the first time we watched it! Every season is on American Netflix so you can go back an re-watch it all again which is what I've been wasting my life doing the last few weeks.

This is one of those movies that I really wanted to go and see in the cinema and just never got around to. It's a feel good film with an all star cast. I love Sofia Vergara in everything.

What are your top Netflix US picks?

  1. I recently signed up to Netflix and my two favourites which I watched are Mad Men and House Of Cards. I am SO addicted to both. I am still catching up on Mad Men, but House of Cards was so great to watch all of, even thought I am not into politics, especially US ones! Definitely worth getting a subscription :)

  2. Ah, Chef was such a wonderful movie!
