GRWM - London Edition

Saturday, 28 February 2015

I'm vlogging again! I took a break from Youtube after Vlogmas as I was moving house and just really busy with loads of different things. But I am back vlogging and making videos so I decided to make a Get Ready With Me. It's a lot harder than it looks, especially when you film it all yourself. So granted its not the most amazing, but I enjoyed doing it.

I also vlogged my trip to London last week to see the Game of Thrones Exhibit and a music showcase evening. If haven't already, please subscribe and hopefully I will be more consistent with uploads now that I've got into a routine with things.

Have you got a YouTube channel? Leave your links below so I can go watch and subscribe :)

Red Carpet - Best Dressed - Brits 2015

Friday, 27 February 2015

I thought I would put together a post of my favourite outfits from The Brit Awards 2015, as there were quite a few people that really stood out for me.

I am going to start with Cara Delevingne, I think she completely shocked everyone and kind of threw people off as she appeared to stay clear of elegant dresses. I loved her look and felt it really suited her. I love it when people step out of the norm and just wear what they want, she really pulled off this look and it was definitely one of my favourites. The next person is Taylor Swift, I don't think she has has displayed one bad outfit yet at any award show, she always gets it completely on point and always looks very elegant and feminine. I loved this dress and this was probably my favourite outfit of the night. Finally, Marina Diamandis, her look reminded me of Dita Von Teese and I loved it, it really flattered her figure and she looked beautiful.

Fearne Cotton // Michelle Keegan // Paloma Faith // Laura Whitmore

Next up is Fearne Cotton, she is one of my style icons, I love her. She went for a gold, short fitting dress, this dress was beautiful and really made Fearne glow, it really suited her style.  Next up is Michelle Keegan, this woman can do no wrong, to be fair she could of just woken up and gone to the Brits and still looked amazing. She is absolutely beautiful, she went for a short, black fitted dress, with a bright green bag to add a pop of colour, which just looked so gorgeous and effortless. Next, Paloma Faith, I was so happy for her to receive an award, she really deserves it, she is so talented.  She looked amazing in a strapless gown and slicked back hair. Finally is Laura Whitmore, I loved her short pale yellow dress paired with a bright red lip, she looked amazing.

What was your favourite outfit from the Brits 2015?

The Netflix Tag

Thursday, 26 February 2015

What are your favourite series' to watch on Netflix?
I am still slowly getting through 24 and really enjoy a good binge on that. I also really like Orange is The New Black, BoJack Horseman and Better Call Saul.

What are you currently watching on Netflix?
I have just started Pretty Little Liars, again 24 is always a good go to when I don't have anything else.

If you could have any series, old or new put on Netflix, what would it be?
One Tree Hill is one of my all time favourites that is on American Netflix but not UK. I would also love to have Game of Thrones to watch whenever I wanted.

What is your only peeve about Netflix?
The licensing is kind of annoying. There are so many awesome shows and documentaries on the American Netflix that I would love to watch.

What are your essentials for a perfect night in with Netflix?
Pizza, lots of munchies like chocolate and crisps, something nice to drink and a big comfy duvet.

Recommend one series or film for someone else.
The ultimate series' on Netflix has to be Breaking Bad. I'm almost positive the show is responsible for most  of Netflix's success.

Name a series on Netflix you keep meaning to watch but haven't yet.
Sons of Anarchy is something I always hover on when I'm flicking through but I'm hoping some new amazing series comes out soon that can rival Breaking Bad and Prison Break.

Did you discover anything awesome because of Netflix?
I discovered Orange is The New Black because of Netflix. I can't wait for the new series in the summer.

I tag all of you :) I love having new recommendations for Netflix so don't forget to leave your tag link below!

Skincare Wishlist

Wednesday, 25 February 2015

Hi guys!

My skin has been crazy the last week or so, I think it's down to stress to be honest. It's driving me crazy though, I think I may invest in some new skincare products as my Clinique and Clarins products don't really seem to be doing anything. I have oily skin which is often prone to breakouts, after doing a lot of research and reading reviews on a range of products, these are the products that I feel would work best for my skin type.

Drops of Youth Bouncy Sleeping Mask // La Roche Posay Effaclar Duo [+] Anti Blemish Cream // Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water // Drops of Youth Concentrate

Philosophy Purity Made 3 - in -1 Cleanser // Sanctuary Pore Refining Toner // Tea Tree Night Lotion // Vitamin E Face Mist

Is there any skincare products you could recommend?

Game Of Thrones Exhibition, London

Sunday, 22 February 2015

Last week myself and Savannah went to the Game of Thrones Exhibition in the O2, London. I got the tickets for free through Sky as you had to have a Sky account to be able to attend the exhibition. After trying not to look at too many spoilers online I didn't really know what to expect. The tickets said allow at least an hour to walk around so I thought it would be quite big.

However you had to allow an hour for the queues for the 4D experience and White Walker photos. The actual exhibition itself was made up nearly entirely of just costumes, whilst these were interesting to look at it didn't take a massive amount of time. I couldn't be made into a White Walker as my hair is now dip dyed green so it blended in with the green screen too much, making my head look weird. The 4D experience that simulated the lift up to the top of the wall had an hour and a half wait, the simulator itself only lasted a few seconds and the reaction of the people on there wasn't amazing so we thought we'd skip that too.

All in all we were quite disappointed, apart from getting to sit on the Iron Throne, we were in and back out within 20 minutes. As I said the costumes and the exhibition itself wasn't bad, there just wasn't enough of it. You could tell quite a few people had travelled quite far to see it and I feel like it could have been so much better.

Did you go to the exhibition? How did you find it?

Meet Pugsey

Saturday, 21 February 2015

Yesterday we went and picked up the newest addition to the Savage household. Pugsey, or Captain Pug Wash as we like to call him, is a 2 year old Pug that was from a rescue shelter.  We saw him online and fell in love straight away, but noticed that he had a few problems. Pugsey only has one eye and is nearly blind, but what he's lost in sight he makes up for in cuteness.

We applied to adopt him as soon as he became available but didn't hear back for around 2 weeks, so we thought he had been homed elsewhere. But then the week before last we had a call saying he was reserved for us as long as we passed our house assessment. I was a little worried that we wouldn't be able to give Pugsey the care and attention he needed, especially with all of his problems. But as soon as we met him, we fell in love and we couldn't leave him there.

He is the friendliest and happiest dog, and super hyper when we first met him. He does walk in to quite a lot but as long as you keep talking to him he finds his way. He will be spending his days in the studio with me and when nick is home, he will be with him. We have had him less than 24 hours but we have both, and all of or friends and families, fallen in love with him.

We adopted Pugsey from Friends Of The Animals who are an independent rescue shelter that survives on donations.

Valentines Day

Tuesday, 17 February 2015

Usually i'm not a big fan of the huge hype around Valentines Day, I don't really get it.  However saying that, my boyfriend was kind enough to treat me to a meal in Cardiff in TGI Fridays, which was absolutely beautiful. After the meal he decided to sneak off while I wandered around Cardiff, I didn't have any idea what he was doing. As we got back to the carpark, ready to set off home, he opened his pockets and pulled a few gifts that he had picked up, this included, The Body Shop Instablur, The Body Shop Honey Bronzing Powder, Rimmel Kate Moss 107, Rimmel Red Nose Red Lipstick and Maybelline Colour Drama Lipstick - Red Essential. As you can tell most of these items were on my wishlist, bless him. I had a lovely weekend and also went to see '50 Shades of Grey' which was amazing!!

What did you do for Valentines Day?

The Theory Of Everything - Review - Movie Monday

Monday, 16 February 2015

Source

Hey guys! We thought we would start a little bit of a series going on Monday nights, Movie Mondays! Genious, I know, it took me ages to come up with the name. Anyway, nothing too heavy for a Monday, just small quick reviews of films that we have watched recently.

So first up is The Theory of Everything, which is the story of Stephen Hawking and his wife Jane Wilde. It shows how they met, fell in love and came to terms with his illness along with his rise to fame.

Both Eddie Redmayne and Felicity Jones, who play the leads, were exceptional throughout. Hawking and his wife have lived an extraordinary life and the actors portrayed them beautifully. The struggles they went through to keep their family together are heart wrenching but I cannot praise Redmayne and Jones enough.

There isn't an awful lot to be said on this film. It was, from what I could tell, an honest and true portrayal a couples life. There were some really funny parts and parts that will leave you balling but it was a film that everyone should see. It really deserves every award it has been nominated for this year!

What films have you loved recently? Are you looking forward to any new releases?

Sharp Objects - Gillian Flynn - Review

Sunday, 15 February 2015

When two girls are abducted and killed in Missouri, journalist Camille Preaker is sent back to her home town to report on the crimes.

Long-haunted by a childhood tragedy and estranged from her mother for years, Camille suddenly finds herself installed once again in her family's mansion, reacquainting herself with her distant mother and the half-sister she barely knows - a precocious 13-year-old who holds a disquieting grip on the town.

As Camille works to uncover the truth about these violent crimes, she finds herself identifying with the young victims - a bit too strongly. Clues keep leading to dead ends, forcing Camille to unravel the psychological puzzle of her own past to get at the story. Dogged by her own demons, Camille will have to confront what happened to her years before if she wants to survive this homecoming.

I LOVE GILLIAN FLYNN. Just putting that out there! This book was as good, if not better than Gone Girl. The twists that this woman can write are amazing! I was slightly dubious over whether to read Sharp Objects as I didn't want to be let down after enjoying Gone Girl so much, I wasn't.

The story centres around a woman who clearly has some issues. She is sent back to her childhood home and parent she really doesn't want to be around, to report on two girls in the space of a few months going missing. You can feel the tension in the relationships she has with her family and the people she grew up with which makes every chapter a page turner. As with Gone Girl I suspected everyone and up until the last minute thought I had it figured out!

I had this book as part of a box set with Gone Girl and Dark Places, I cannot wait to read the next one. I highly recommend Flynn's writing to anyone looking for an amazing thriller that keeps you reading well into the night.

Lush Unicorn Horn - Review

Saturday, 14 February 2015

I was lucky enough to get my hands on some of the Lush Valentines range for my birthday and as soon as I seen as I saw I had Unicorn Horn Bubble Bar I couldn't wait to use it!

The colours are awesome and its slightly glittery so you come out of the bath looking a little like a Cullen from twilight. The smell is lovely but it's nowhere near as strong as usual Lush products. I was actually a little disappointed with the smell to be honest as I used the whole bar in one go and the scent didn't last very long at all.

I loved the little floating stars that lasted the whole bath and with the bar turning the water a deep purple it looked like a night sky. I didn't dislike this bar but I probably won't be as overly excited for its return next year, as I will be for Candy Mountain at Christmas.

What products from the Valentines and Mothers Day ranges have you tried? Any Recommendations?

Drugstore Beauty Wishlist

Friday, 13 February 2015

Hi everyone, I'm so sorry that I haven't posted in so long. My dad is currently really unwell and everything is a bit of a struggle at the moment. I had a spare two minutes this morning so I thought I would put together a quick post of a few beauty items that I have been eyeing up.

February Spotify Playlist

Thursday, 12 February 2015

There is a little bit of a mixture on here. I haven't really found myself listening to anything over and over for a few weeks but there are some awesome songs on here from the charts and also my local music scene.

If you have any recommendations for new music at the moment, comment below. I am in need of some new music to listen to and I have a bit of travelling to do next week so could do with something to keep me entertained.

Benefit Cosmetics Haul

Wednesday, 11 February 2015

I am a massive fan of Benefit, they were the first high end makeup brand I ever used, and I haven't really strayed. I have only ever really used the basics when it comes to make up, slap a bit of foundation and concealer on and job done. But when I was at my regular Benefit counter in Boots Queen St, Cardiff, I decided to have a little splurge.

I had completely run out of Boiing Concealer so that was the first thing on my list as I haven't found a concealer that can really cover my dark circles and blemishes quite like it.

Next, I was there to sort out some major eyebrow issues, long story, so the lovely Lucy was kind enough to sort me out with a Browzings, which I have the E.L.F. version of and can honestly say will never be going back to! There is quite a difference in price, but also in quality, if you have read my Monthly Beauty Favourites you will see the E.L.F. eyebrow kit there and I thought it was great until I used Benefit's. You only have to use the smallest amount to get amazing results and my eyebrows were still there by the time I was going to bed. I love E.L.F. for the prices but it is true what they say, you pay for what you get!

And last but not least, I had a bit of a telling off when the girls on the counter found out I don't use any sort of moisturiser or cleanser. I'm not going to lie, when they found out I hate washing the look on their faces was enough to embarrass anyone into starting! It's not that I don't wash, but I have no routine when it comes to that sort of thing and I've found a good old makeup wipe does the job. Apparently not! It is something I have wanted to start doing, my make up doesn't sit on my skin very well because it is so dry in some places and oily in others. I have been told by so many people my skin is thirsty so I went for the b.right Radiant Skin Care Intro Kit. This has trial sizes of all the skin care products I was looking at and hopefully the perfect start into kicking me up the bum and making me wash! Ha, but seriously, I will get into a routine and look after my skin.

What products are you loving at the moment? Have you tried Benefit's new Puff Off?

The Humans - Matt Haig - Review

Tuesday, 10 February 2015

THERE'S NO PLACE LIKE HOME.
OR IS THERE?

After an 'incident' one wet Friday night where Professor Andrew Martin is found walking naked through the streets of Cambridge, he is not feeling quite himself. Food sickens him. Clothes confound him. Even his loving wife and teenage son are repulsive to him. He feels lost amongst a crazy alien species and hates everyone on the planet. Everyone, that is, except Newton, and he's a dog.

What could possibly make someone change their mind about the human race. . . ?

I've come to realise I am either really easily pleased or just on a really good streak with choosing books at the moment. This is another book that I have recommended to anyone who has mentioned reading to me the last few weeks. I bought it on a whim and didn't really think I was going to enjoy it. For one it had a dog on the cover and I am the most indifferent person when it comes to dogs and after reading the blurb back once it was delivered I thought I had made a mistake in buying it. The thing that really swayed it for me was the review on the front by Joanne Harris, I am so glad I let it, I loved The Curious Incident, and she was right.

There were some parts I felt were a little silly, but with a book about aliens anything goes, right?! The story itself was very thought provoking, making you look at human life in a whole new light, and I really didn't mind the dog. Haig's writing was very funny and honest and I will definitely be on the look out for more of his books.

What are you reading at the moment?

Pandora Ring

Monday, 9 February 2015

This is a bit of an odd post. Just about my new ring. It is my replacement engagement ring for now, as my old one broke just after I got married. I had fancied this ring every time I passed the Pandora shop but didn't want to just buy it for the sake of it. So my lovely husband bought it for me for my birthday and I'm happy to no longer have just my boring wedding band on my finger.

There isn't a lot more to say. I can't stop looking at how pretty it is, so I thought I would share it with everyone. I didn't have anything else to post with it so just a short and sweet one today!

Hope everyone is having a wonderful Monday, it definitely feels like spring is around the corner! I can't wait to get home from work tonight as we have The Walking Dead and Better Call Saul to watch!

Birthday Lush Haul

Sunday, 8 February 2015

One of my presents from my husband this year was a big bag of Lush goodies. There was a slight problem in that he is colour blind and even though he did an awesome job at finding lots of stuff that I love (thanks to a little phone call to Savannah) he is also colour blind, so instead of picking up my absolute fav The Comforter I had 2 Blue Skies and Fluffy White Clouds. I'm not a major fan of the smell of that bubble bar so he didn't mind me taking it back and swopping it for 2 new lovely Comforters instead.

I also got 2 Unicorn Horns which I am really excited to use. There has been a lot of talk of these on lots of blogs so I am excited to try it. They look so cool and the smell isn't as full on as most Lush products usually are so its good when you don't want to be walking around with people sniffing you (trust me this has happened to me before). I also got a tub of Rub Rub Rub which is another of my Lush Favourites, and I think also one of my husbands because it never seems to last very long in my house.

Two products that I never really paid attention too until I opened them on my birthday were the Twilight Bath Bomb and Creamy Candy Bubble Bar. The bubble bar smells just like Candy Mountain and Snow Fairy, need I say more. I can't wait to have a little bit of Candy Mountain back in my life! And the Twilight Bath Bomb smells immense too, I have had blocked sinuses for what feels like forever and this bath bomb really smells like its going to clear my head. Its packed full of lavender which is also going to help with my never ending sleep issues.

What are your Lush favourites at the moment?

Elle Magazine with Benefit Roller Lash Mascara

Friday, 6 February 2015

I managed to get the last copy of Elle on the shelf in my local Tesco yesterday, word must have spread about this years most wanted magazine freebie! As soon as I seen it was on sale I went straight to the shop. There is so much hype about this release at the moment I really wanted to see what everyone is talking about! The review will be up over the next few days, once I've had a chance to use it a few times.

Have you managed to get a copy of Elle yet? What's your verdict on Benefit's Roller Lash?
