2015 Roundup

Thursday, 31 December 2015

New Year's Eve is upon us once again. It's the perfect time to reflect on the good and the bad that has happened over the last 12 months and decide on what changes you would like to make and, hopefully, stick to moving forward. In many ways this hasn't been my most amazing year but so many great things have also happened. I am so grateful to the friends and family that have helped me get through, what felt like, the end of the world to me. I am finally starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel and even though there is still a lot of hard work left to get there, I know 2016 is going to be much better!

Lush Cinders Bath Bomb Review

Thursday, 17 December 2015

There is only a week until Christmas and I finally get some time off work!!! I haven't had a week off from the studio since last Christmas, so I am definitely counting down the days until I shut up shop for a little while. I though I would get into the Christmas spirit though and try out one of the Lush Christmas products that I received at their blogger event a few weeks back.

Gillian Flynn - The Grownup Review

Sunday, 13 December 2015

A young woman is making a living, faking it as a cut-price psychic working at Spiritual Palms (with some illegal soft-core sex work on the side). She makes a decent wage - mostly by telling people what they want to hear. But then she meets Susan Burke. Susan moved to the city one year ago with her husband and 15-year old stepson Miles. They live in a Victorian house called Carterhook Manor, built in 1893. Susan has become convinced that some malevolent spirit is inhabiting their home, and taking possession of the stepson. She has even found trickles of blood on the wall. The young woman doesn't believe in exorcism or the supernatural, but she does see an opportunity to make a lot of money. However when she enters the house for the first time, and meets Miles, she begins to feel it too, as if the very house is watching her, waiting, biding its time...

Bath Christmas Markets

Sunday, 6 December 2015

This weekend I went to Bath to do a bit of Christmas shopping and visit the Christmas Markets. I have been so busy in work over the last few weeks I have been counting down the days so I could have a day away from the studio getting into the Christmas spirit.

Disneyworld Travel Diary - Day Three

Tuesday, 24 November 2015

Good Morning guys, I have another disney post today for you! This is the third day of my trip to Disneyworld Florida where we visited Animal Kingdom. As you can see from the photos, it was a beautiful day yet again. As we walked into Animal Kingdom we could see 'The Tree of Life' which was absolutely beautiful, the tree is so detailed and looks amazing as you walk in.

Disneyworld Travel Diary - Day Two

Tuesday, 17 November 2015

Good Morning!!

I'm so sorry that these posts have taken so long, after being back in University everything has just gone slightly crazy. Anyways, back to this post; the second day of my trip to Disneyworld. We spent the second day at the Magic Kingdom. We woke up extremely early and got to the park about half hour before it opened so that we could watch the opening ceremony. All the characters stood up on the balcony to sing and dance, which I am not going to lie, did make me a cry a bit, haha.

Lush Winter & Christmas Bloggers Event

Thursday, 12 November 2015

This Tuesday we were invited to Lush Cosmetics' Winter/Christmas blogger event. Myself and Savannah love going to these events and having demonstrations of all the new products by the awesome staff at the Cardiff store.

Genderless Clothing

Tuesday, 10 November 2015

If any of you follow me on Instagram or my photography page on Facebook you will have seen me post about Genderless Clothing. This week we shot the promo images for their brand new line of clothing in my studio.

The whole idea behind the brand is that every garment of clothing is unisex. The dream is to be able to walk into a shop and not have to shop in a specific department to fit your label, but to have the freedom to say I like this and I will wear it how I want to. Regardless of gender, sexuality, race or any other label that people can think of, GDL Clothing will be a place where you have the freedom to be you. I am completely in love with the ethos and the brand. The clothes are awesome and the whole team behind the campaign are amazing. Working with Lucy and Laura who created the company has been so much fun and I love bouncing ideas with them. I really think that is just the beginning for them!

Pugsey's 3rd Birthday

Sunday, 8 November 2015

In October we celebrated Pugsey's 3rd birthday. We don't know his actual birthday, as we weren't given that information when we adopted him in February, but we didn't want him to go without a birthday.

A/W Primark Haul

Wednesday, 14 October 2015

I called into Cardiff Primark on the weekend and, even though I put myself on a very strict spending budget, I managed to come out of there with a nice big bag full. I put so much back as well, I am loving their A/W 15 range at the moment.

October Life Update - Back To Blogging

Monday, 12 October 2015

Hi guys! Hope you are all well. I am so happy to be back blogging again after having a break for the last few weeks. Even though its been nice to not have to make sure I have something scheduled to go live every few days I have missed creating content and blogging in general.

October is my favourite month of the year by far. I love the weather and clothes. I love the leaves everywhere and halloween displays in shops. I love the trickles of excitement starting to build for Christmas. And I love how much I have planned for this October.

Disneyworld Travel Diary - Day One

Friday, 2 October 2015

Hey guys!!! I have some exciting posts coming up for you all. As some of you may know I have recently come back from my holiday to Florida, there are no words to describe how amazing this holiday was, I loved every second of it. The first few posts I have are going to be day by day diaries of what I did each day whilst I was there. So let's get on with it!

We didn't arrive in our hotel until around half seven in the evening on the 3rd September so by the time we got ourselves settled into our hotel which was the All Star Sports Resort, we decided to have an early night so we could feel fresh and ready for the next day.  We woke up extremely early on our first day in Florida, 4:30 am to be exact, jetlag definitely kicked in, haha! We decided to venture to one of the waterparks first as it was boiling in Florida. The first waterpark we went to was Blizzard Beach, this park was so relaxed and really fun, with a variety of things to do. Unfortunately I only have one photo from this park but my boyfriend took his GoPro with him so we have a heap of footage to go through and edit to put into a series of Florida vlogs.

We spent around about 3-4 hours in the waterpark before we headed back to the hotel to get changed and make our way to the next park which was EPCOT. This park has a very different feel to the other parks, it's more sightseeing than thrill seeking, however it is still a beautiful park. We wandered around the different countries which were spread out around a huge lake, you don't actually realise how far you have walked once you've walked around the lake. Each country had something different to offer and a different atmosphere, there really was something for everyone.

My favourite ride at this park was definitely 'Soarin', this was such a strange and surreal feeling but so much fun. Your basically sat in a row on what looks like a hand glider which rises you up in the air and makes you feel like you are gliding over California. After we wandered around the lake we decided to grab some food as we were both starving, we decided to eat in Liberty Inn in America, this was a quick service restaurant which served a mixture of sandwiches, burgers, hot dogs and salads, the food was beautiful.

Towards the end of the night we made our way to a spot on the side of the lake ready for IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth, a firework and light show on the lake. This show was breathtaking and such an amazing way to end our first night in Florida.

I'm so sorry that these posts have taken so long but i've had to sort through a heap full of pictures, hopefully the next one should be up very soon, which is Day 2 - Magic Kingdom.

Blog Break

Friday, 18 September 2015

Savannah is back today!! Even though she has taken a bit of a back seat on the blog as of late and hasn't been posting as much as she used to, she has always just been a call or message away. However the last fortnight she has been in Florida. What with the time difference and the fact that she was on an amazing holiday I haven't spoken to her an awful lot so running the blog has been quite difficult. I have been posting on a very cut back schedule because of this.

I know she has so many posts that she wants to share with you from the trip and I have so much 'life' stuff to catch up on, so I will be having a short break and letting Savannah catch up with you all in the mean time.

I only intend to have a break of two weeks but that should allow me to rest and recoup ready with a new batch of post ideas. It will also allow me to concentrate fully on my business which needs my undivided attention right now.

So I will speak to you all soon, like all of you, I can't wait to see what Savannah has been up to!

What I've Been Watching This Week

Sunday, 13 September 2015

I mentioned in a previous post that one of my favourite things about September and Autumn is that TV gets good again. American TV is a lot better than British TV on the most part, but I do love a few UK shows too. This week I have started watching and got back into a few shows.

Empire

I started watching Empire this week and have nearly finished the whole series. Both me and Nick are really enjoying it. The songs they write on the show do get stuck in your head though, you have been warned! The new series starts at the end of the month and I'm so excited as I thought I would have to wait forever after I finished the first season.

Fear The Walking Dead

This started a few weeks ago and had a break this week, so I took that time to catch up on the first few episodes. And for a spin off series, I have to say I am really pleasantly surprised. The Walking Dead has gone a bit downhill for me in the last season or two so I was kind of expecting a watered down version of the original first season. But Fear The Walking Dead is starting to get really good, I feel like I may start enjoying this more than the original.

Suits

I LOVE Suits!! Again this is on a season break atm so I was doing some catch up, why do American TV shows have so many breaks? A few of my friends suggested that we watch this and I think we were all but caught up within a month. We had a busy few weeks so had a bit of a binge this week and I am still really enjoying every episode.

24

I am currently on season 8 of 24. I think I started the first season around this time last year and even though I really enjoy it whenever I finish a season I feel emotionally drained. How one guy can go through so much in 24 hours is beyond me! I like to take a few breaks in between seasons just to get over the season before. But I have to say I am as addicted to this season as ever. I put it on when I am editing in work and time just flies.

Great British Bake Off

And of course I have been watching the amazing Great British Bake Off! **Spoiler Alert** If you haven't seen this weeks episode skip the rest of this paragraph!! I really didn't want Alvin to leave, I never though he could win it but he was so cute and kind hearted. He just wanted to do his family proud and it broke my heart (insert crying emoji here) anyway I really don't know who I want to win this year. It changes every week.

What have you been watching this week?

Albums I Loved

Wednesday, 9 September 2015

There was never a time in my teens that, when asked the question 'what are you listening to right now?', I didn't have an answer. Nowadays I find it more and more difficult to find albums that I truly love, and could listen to over and over. But I thought I would share with you a few albums that shaped my teens and that every time I hear take me straight back.

My Chemical Romance - Three Cheers For Sweet Revenge
Good Charlotte - The Young and the Hopeless
Panic! At The Disco - A Fever You Can't Sweat Out
Fall Out Boy - From Under The Cork Tree

Linkin Park - Hybrid Theory
Paramore - Misery Business
The All American Rejects - Move Along
Greenday - American Idiot

I think if you put these albums on right now I would still know every word to every song and the order the songs come in. I listened to a few of the songs from each album before I wrote this post and ended up daydreaming and reminiscing for about two hours.

What are your favourite teen albums? What album brings back the most memories for you?

What Are Your Youtube Links?

Friday, 4 September 2015

As many of you know, I have my own YouTube channel. I don't have a million subscribers and I don't post massive hauls every week but I am starting to upload more and more each month. I try and upload at least once a week, whether it be a vlog of my day or a challenge with Nick.

I would love to find some new YouTube channels to watch as I enjoy watching smaller YouTubers and seeing what they get up to. Don't forget to leave your links below for me to go over and start following you. If you have any new ideas for challenges or vlogs for me and Nick please feel free to mention them below too.

If you want to see what I got up to over the last few weeks here are some videos :)

September Plans

Saturday, 29 August 2015

September is nearly on us for another year which means that a lot of my friends are either going back to university and college or are going back to their teaching jobs. This summer has flown and it doesn't feel like I've done half as much as I wanted. But with the winter looming ever closer I have started making my Autumn plans.

When I say plans, I mean what movies and TV shows am I going to watch, because everyone knows that come September/October all the good TV starts. In particular I can't wait for Homeland to start back and the new Fear The Walking dead started last week and looks really promising.

TV also ties in with my hibernation plans. As most people will be getting back to routine there will be a lot less plans being made. Which means it will be the perfect opportunity to go into hibernation and super scrimping mode for a while to save for Christmas.

The lack of plans will also give me and nick the perfect opportunity to film more YouTube videos. If you watch my channel, you will have noticed that I have started doing a lot more videos with Nick. We were going to start a second channel together but decided it would be a lot easier to just upload it to my channel as I don't have enough time to do both. We have already started filming more and are hoping over the next few weeks we will to be able to start uploading at least twice a week.

What are your September and Autumn plans?

Twitter Chats - Your Opinions

Thursday, 27 August 2015

Both myself and Savannah really enjoy getting involved in Twitter chats. It something we try to do as often as possible. I love that the community all get together to chat about different topics and help each other out with certain problems. I have also noticed, however, a few dramas going on, and a little animosity directed at other bloggers. It got me wondering if sometimes the blogging community is only supportive and welcoming to those blogging about the 'right' things?

I myself have never been at the receiving end of any upset and would like to think that I've only ever been supportive to other bloggers. But I thought I would open up a discussion to see how everyone else felt? Did those people causing the drama bring it on themselves? Or is the blogging community only nice until you disagree with something that is the 'norm'?

Just to clarify, I am of the opinion that the blogging community is great. They have been nothing but supportive to us. I just thought I would start a discussion and see how everyone else felt about Twitter chats and how they effect the community.

August Favourites

Tuesday, 25 August 2015

This month my I have four favourite products from two very different companies, Lancôme and Primark.

The first product is Lancôme's Advanced Génifique Eye Serum, I only have a sample size but after the first use I was raving about it. I absolutely love it. This serum cools and moisturises the eyes whilst reducing the appearance of bags. The second product from Lancôme is La Vie est Belle Eau de Parfum. I had been loving this perfume since around April time but only having a squirt when I passed a perfume counter. Then my mother and father bought me a bottle on their way home from their holiday a few weeks ago and I haven't stopped wearing it.

Primark is not somewhere I usually buy makeup from but the coloured eyeliner was on the end of an isle reduced to 50p. You all know how much I love a bargain so I picked it up and loved it. Then on my next visit I saw this highlighter and thought I'd give it a go seen as the eyeliner was so good. Both products are really good for the price so I will be keeping my eye out for more Primark makeup bargains.

What are your August favourites?

What I Miss About Education

Monday, 24 August 2015

This time of year has made me really sad ever since I graduated. I looked forward to the start of September nearly as much as the run up to Christmas. I know, I know, I sound like a top nerd but I absolutely loved school and university. I would give anything to be starting a new term in a few weeks.

Source
My most favourite part, which I'm sure lots of you will agree with me on, was the new stationary. I loved having new pens and notebooks and feeling like it was a brand new start. Our school also used to hand us out year planners which were awesome. I feel like thats where my obsession with lists and planning stemmed from.

Source
The start of the university term was also the time when I got to pick my modules for that year. I loved reading the overviews of each class and getting excited about what was coming up. Reading bills and sorting through my business accounts is just a tad less exciting!

Of course there is also seeing your friends, school friends I tended to see through the summer but my university friends all went home for the summer, so it was great catching up with everyone. As soon as the induction for the year was over it was straight to the SU shed (yes it really was that small) for some grub and a natter.

All in all I just loved the whole education experience. I have been thinking about going back and studying for my PGCE part time so that I could teach photography in schools and seeing everyone else getting ready to start in September is tempting me even more.

Disney Series - Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party

Saturday, 22 August 2015

Today I have another Disney series post for you, I am now officially on the 10 day countdown, how exciting! During our holiday, my boyfriend and I came across an event called 'Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party'. I had never really heard of this before so we decided to do some research as it sounded quite fun. The disney website stated that the Magic Kingdom park is decorated with halloween decorations and even the characters are dressed up in halloween costumes. The park is open for guests with tickets to this event only from 7pm - 12am, the park puts on halloween themed parades and firework displays and this year even has the 'Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular with the Sanderson sisters making an appearance, as soon as I read this I was sold, I am obsessed with Hocus Pocus. Even though you have to pay separately for a ticket to this event, I really think it's worth doing it as the park will be a lot quieter allowing you to go on a lot more rides and see a lot more things. It's also a great idea to get you in the mood for Halloween. I can't wait to see what this event is like.

Lush Dark Angels Face Mask

Friday, 21 August 2015

Last week my skin decided to break out in the worst state it has been since my teens. I was horrified. As someone who doesn't wear makeup on a regular basis, it's hard to feel confident enough to go without in public, when your face looks like it's about to erupt at any second. So when I was in the Lush blogger event this week, I decided to pick up a new mask and try to clear it up.

I went for the Dark Angels mask as it has charcoal in it to exfoliate the skin and rhassoul mud to cleanse. It doesn't look great, pretty much looks like coal in a tub but it smells lovely. The pot says to take a small piece and mix it with a little water in your palm to create a paste. This is a little easier said than done, I managed to get it everywhere and it tends to turn anything it touches black. So after fighting to get the mask on my face, I quickly had to run around and clean the bathroom just incase it stained.

It feels lovely going on, I think I could have possibly used a little more but after getting it everywhere the first time around, I didn't want to risk it with my already wet hands. Washing off, again, felt great and my skin felt soft and nourished afterwards. It left a little bit of residue in the bath when I got out but was gone with a quick wipe over.

On first use, I really like this mask. I don't think it is one I will use all the time as it takes so much effort, because it is so messy. But my skin definitely felt a lot calmer straight away and the fragrance was lovely.

Have you tried Dark Angels? What is your favourite face mask from Lush?

PugFest's 1st Birthday

Thursday, 20 August 2015

Last weekend I attended Pugfest's 1st birthday event in Cardiff. We missed the last event in Cardiff as it was the weekend we adopted Pugsey and we wanted him to be all settled before we took him. I didn't really know what to expect as Pugsey gets very nervous around other dogs, especially male. However, when he has met other pugs he has been fine so we thought we would see how he would get on.

Pugsey was completely fine with all the other dogs, he spent more time sniffing tyres and benches than he did bothering with the other pugs. The event itself had a few stalls selling accessories and clothes and had lots of activities going on for the pugs, including a pug dash.

We had a great time and are really looking forward to the Christmas event. Hopefully Pugsey will try and make friends with the dogs this time and not the seating.

Lush Cardiff Summer Collection Blogger Event

Wednesday, 19 August 2015

Last night we were invited down to Lush Cardiff for the launch of their new Summer Collection. A lot of the new products were previous Oxford St exclusives and old favourites reimagined into even better products.

We are massive fans of bubble bars and melts and the new range are awesome. I think Milky Bath is definitely a firm favourite with the both of us from last night. A lot of the old favourites that have been brought back seem to have got a lot bigger and better with Karma being one of those. It now has a melt in the top to make your bath that little more luxurious.

We were treated to lovely refreshments, as always, and the staff showing us each product couldn't be more helpful. We always love going to these events because all of the staff make sure each individual is OK and is having a good time, we always feel so welcome.

Another favourite of ours is the bath bombs and again I feel like we might have a new favourite in Frozen. There were quite a few new additions to the bath bomb range and another one I can't wait to try is Intergalactic, it smelt so refreshing and relaxing.

Another major perk to these events is the goody bags at the end of the night. I bought a few goodies which the posts will be up for soon but we also had a Frozen Bath Bomb, Wash That Man Right Out Of My Hair Shower Gel and Golden Handshake Hot Hand Mask given to us to try.

As always we had a great time and we can't wait for the Christmas Event already. Have you got any favourites from the new range yet?
