Topshop A/W Wishlist

Monday, 29 September 2014

It's that time of year again, jumpers, candles, scarfs and christmas just around the corner. I love Autumn so much, everything gets so much cosier. I've recently noticed most shops putting out their Autumn/Winter collections, which is so exciting. Topshop this year I feel are on point with their A/W collections, I've seen so many amazing items which I sometimes struggle to find. Here are a few pieces that I have been eyeing up.

Gone Girl - Gillian Flynn

I started reading Gone Girl a few days ago, I had downloaded it a while ago but still had a lot of books to read before I got to it. But then I came across the trailer for the film and when I realised what I was watching I quickly turned it off and finished the current book I was reading so that I could get straight to this, as I hate reading a book after the film has come out. I'm about a quarter of the way through so far and its so tense, I suspect everyone!

Little Beach Street Bakery - Jenny Colgan

I have only read the first few pages of Little Beach Street Bakery as I have been so into reading Gone Girl. But I only bought it as an easy read for a break in between those books that take it all out of you. You know the ones where you want to start a new book but you are on a book hangover, can't quite get over the characters or the story from the previous book, please tell me I'm not the only one this happens to?! Anyway it is what it is and I'm hoping for a nice little pick me up read.

Clash of Kings (Game of Thrones Book 2) - George R. R. Martin

I have been reading Clash of Kings forever. I seem to go in and out of love with reading it. I have watched all the series so far so I don't want to get to ahead of myself and find out what is going to happen before the series because I feel like the tv show is actually making me enjoy and understand the books a lot more. So if I am ever bored and looking for something to read I tend to pick it back up. Don't get me wrong it's an awesome book/series of books, but sometimes it's just a little full on.

I am thinking of starting a little read along, book club type thing as a regular post on here. Let me know in the comments if anyone would be interested. Would be a little bit sad to do it by myself...

Time For a Change

Myself and Abi decided a few weeks ago to pay someone to completely redesign our blog. We had hit around 250 - 300 followers and felt that we needed something that looked better.  After searching through many different websites, we stumbled across Bonjour Belle Designs.  Stephanie Bramham from Bonjour Belle Designs sent us a questionnaire of what we would like to appear on our blog. Myself and Abi knew that we wanted something simple, that really showed our personalities and what we enjoy. We provided Steph with as much information as possible to help her achieve this. We are thrilled with the outcome of the blog design and we can't wait to start blogging more.

Goodbye To Company Magazine

Sunday, 21 September 2014

So last week I called into my local Tesco to pick up the final print copy of Company Magazine and to say I was gutted is an understatement. I really love everything about this magazine, and I know its still going to be online, but it loses some of the magic not having its awesome matt pages for you to feel.

I think that Company are one of the very few magazines on the market today that have really embraced the internet culture that we live in, not just on its website but also in print. The way they include bloggers as a normality in everyone of their issues just show how on point and ahead of the game they were years ago.

I also really love the editorials that they create. They always seem to be so fresh and new and, as a photographer I have always used their magazines, whether it be the editorials or any other part, as inspiration for my own projects.

So I, for one, am very disappointed that Company will no longer be on the shelves with all the other magazines. I love the internet but it will never take the place of print media. In my eyes they are 2 totally different entities that can survive in the same world.

Be Happy!

Friday, 19 September 2014

Do you ever have them days where you feel like you need a pick me up? I know I do quite often, especially this week, I've not had the best of weeks. Usually when I feel like this I will look on Instagram or Tumblr for happy quotes, this usually picks me up a little bit.  I love reading the different quotes and pictures that go alongside them.

Are there any quotes or images that you have found that has brightened up your week?

New Netflix Series - BoJack Horseman

Wednesday, 17 September 2014

A few days ago myself and my husband were at a loss of what to watch as we had just come to the end of season 2 of 'Orange Is The New Black', which I loved by the way, and didn't really know where to go next. Then I remembered a random Aaron Paul tweet that I had read talking about his new animated series made by Netflix.

When I first read the synopsis and watched the first few minutes, I have to say, I didn't really get it. The whole show centres around a washed up actor who is human but with a horses head. But the more and more I watched, the more I loved it. It was stupid, childish humour and so predictable but so easy to watch and enjoy and for that alone I really hope it BoJack Horseman gets commissioned for another series.

But it has come to that time again, where I don't know what to watch on Netflix next! If you have any recommendations, please leave them in the comments!

The Autumn Tag

Friday, 12 September 2014

I seen this tag on MyWOrldMyView's blog and thought it would be fun.

1. Okay, we're talking coffee's - what's your favourite seasonal drink from Starbucks, Costa, Cafe Nero etc?

I love a White Mocha with Caramel from Starbucks when the weather gets cold actually I love it all year round but it's even better when it's chilly outside.

2. Accessories - what do you opt for: scarves, gloves or boots?

Scarves, I love scarves! As soon as September hits I can't wait to go scarf shopping. I do love boots too though.

3. Music - what's your favourite music to listen to during Autumn?

I don't think I listen to anything different during different seasons but my Autumn playlist post will be out soon! (Shameless plug :D)

4. Perfume - what's your favourite scent for this time of year?

Jimmy Choo, again I love this all year round but it is most definitely an A/W fragrance.

5. Candles - what candles will you be burning this season?

I love Yankee Candles so I will be looking for some of their new Autumn candles.

6. What do you love most about Autumn?

Crisp mornings and starting to feel the cold knowing Halloween and Christmas is just around the corner.

7. Favourite make up look?

I usually go for a darker lipstick and a little darker eye but still really simple.

8. What are you looking forward to most in Autumn?

New scarves and the crunch of leaves under my feet.

I tag anyone who wants to do this tag. Please link your tags below so I can have a read.

August Primark Haul

Wednesday, 10 September 2014

Hi Guys

As you can see, I decided to have a little splurge in Primark last week, I couldn't resist. The new Primark store in Cardiff is now huge, with five floors. I could easily spend hours in here, it drives my boyfriend mental after being there for ten minutes.  They were just starting to bring in their Autumn/Winter stock when I went in. Before going to the Lush Blogging Event last week, myself and Abi decided to wander into Primark, I wish I didn't now as they now have all of their Autumn/Winter stock in, I need another shopping trip.

My Photography Studio Opening

Monday, 8 September 2014

As some of you may know Saturday was the Grand Opening of my photography studio. I have been working towards this for what feels like forever and I still can't quite believe that it has actually become a reality.

It was an awesome day and a really good turn out. We spent all morning making cake pops and sorting out the welsh cakes and I didn't think it was all going to get done in time but as you can see it looked alright in the end.

Lush Mask of Magnaminty - First Impressions

Tuesday, 2 September 2014

One of my free samples from the Lush Cardiff Blogging Event was this Mask of Magnaminty face and body mask. I was dying to try it as it was one of my favourite products that we were shown at the event from the new self-preserving range.

Getting it on is quite simple, it is a thick texture but spreads easily. The smell wasn't the greatest. This I knew from smelling it in store. I didn't love it, but it wasn't disgusting. I think the peppermint eases the smell a little.

Lush Cardiff Blogger Event

Monday, 1 September 2014

Last Thursday, myself and Abi were kindly invited to a Lush blogging event in Cardiff. The event allowed us to test out their new skincare and sun care products which was very exciting.  As soon as we arrived we were greeted by the lovely staff at Lush, they welcomed us into the store and told us to have a browse around, I had to fight the urge to pick up a basket and fill it full of products. The staff then called us all together and told us what was going to happen and what products they had on offer. They split us into two groups and one group went upstairs and the other stayed downstairs.
