I Don't Know What To Do

Tuesday, 30 December 2014

Sorry for another post but I felt that this was the best time to write this. Over the last few weeks I have really not been feeling myself, I am usually a happy person but there is a lot of things that are going on in my life that I have had to deal with, these problems have caused me not to go to University as I just couldn't face it and other things became more important.

I feel like I need to share this with someone as I just feel that it is building up inside of me. When I started University last year I thought it was the best decision of my life and loved it, however over the last few months I have found myself hating it, I know hate is a really strong word but this is the only way I can describe how I feel. I start a new term on Monday and I feel physically sick at the thought of going back and my heart starts to race. When starting University I wanted to become a Teacher, however I just feel that this isn't for me anymore. I don't feel like I am passionate enough about being a teacher, which is just causing me to have no motivation. Before I left school to go to University I dreamt of being a makeup artist and opening my own shop, however I freaked at the thought of not being able to have the money to start a business so I just went for the second thing that I wanted to do.

I have only spoke to one of my closest friends about this as I cannot face the thought of telling my family or boyfriend as I just think I will look like a failure. I just feel like i'm plodding along and just existing instead of living. I really don't know what to do, I have another year and a half left of this course. I know this is quite a depressing post but I needed to get it off my chest.
Any advice?

Girl Online - Zoe Sugg Book Review

Hi guys! It's been a while, I thought I would start back up with a review of the book 'Girl Online' by Zoe Sugg. This was one of my presents for Christmas off my boyfriend as he knew how much I love Zoe. I fell in love with this book as soon I seen it, the front cover is absolutely beautiful and so girly. I also love the fact that it is a hardback book, I prefer these. I started reading this book on Boxing day morning and finished it by the evening, I really couldn't put it down. Many of you probably know who Zoe Sugg is aka Zoella, if not, where have you been?
The main character of the book is Penny, this character is so easy to relate to, as you can relate to all the teenage troubles she is facing such as boys, troubling friendships and anxiety. Penny has a blog and she uses it to log all her thoughts and feelings, however her blog is anonymous as she calls herself 'girl online'. Penny starts facing a lot of trouble at school and her family decide to whisk her away to New York with the company of her best friend Elliot. In New York, Penny meets an american, 'rock star' looking guy named Noah. Penny starts falling for Noah very quickly and captures all these secret moments on her blog, however Noah has a secret too which could ruin everything for Penny.

I absolutely loved this book as it was such an easy read, the time went by so quick and I didn't even realise that I had been reading it all day. I found it very difficult to put the book down after starting it. The characters in the book are so easy to relate to as you realise that you have faced some of their problems in your teenage years. I was so happy to find out that Zoe was planning on releasing a second book as I feel that there is so much more that we could learn from the characters as you only really touch on their personalities in 'Girl Online'. All in all, I am really impressed with this book and would recommend it to anyone looking for a fun and girly story.

Where Have You Been?

(Picture from Christmas Day!)

Hi Guys, it's Savannah! I know I have been absent for quite some time, I am extremely sorry for this. Over the last few weeks my life has become pretty hectic, I have had to try and deal with things that I never thought I would and trying to juggle both uni work and the blog was extremely difficult. I felt terrible that this whole blog had to be run by Abi as I know she has had a crazy few weeks in her studio with the lead up to Christmas. I have a ton of posts that I have planned for the next few weeks including a 'What I got for Christmas' post, exciting. I am sorry for my absence but I can assure you that I will be back very soon!

I hope you all had an amazing Christmas!

P.S, Sorry about the crappy photo but I wanted to include some sort of image to brighten the post up, haha!

McBusted Album - Review

Sunday, 7 December 2014

This is a bit of a controversial one. There are so many people that are against McBusted, some of them are the die hard McFly fans, some of them are the people who just want to hate them because of who they are or what they represent, the cheesy pop band from the 00's, and some people just genuinely dislike the music. I must admit I am one of those people who are slightly annoyed that they didn't bring out the already recorded 6th McFly album before they started this new band. I am a massive McFly fan and have always loved them but no matter how much I am trying to deny it I am starting to like McBusted.

'Air Guitar' wasn't my favourite song, I am the first to hold my hands up to that, but it is growing on me. However as soon as I heard their newest single 'Get Over It' I loved it! So much so I thought I would give the album the chance I was adamant I wasn't going to give it. Now don't get me wrong I love Matt Willis and James Bourne. I have met both of them and they were genuinely nice and lovely people but I really wanted McFly back. After hearing this album, I don't think it's going to happen any time soon. The songs are so catchy and, even though not all of them are amazing, obviously thats just my opinion, there are quite a few on there that I really liked straight away.

'Hate Your Guts' was one of my immediate favourites and you can definitely hear Mark Hoppus' influence. The same thing happened with 'Before You Knew Me' the lyrics were so funny and clever. There were also songs that I hated as soon as I heard them, most specifically 'Riding On My Bike'. It was the complete opposite of the last two I mentioned, with immature lyrics that annoyed me so much I turned it off before the second chorus.

I haven't heard the album enough to say whether it is one I will be still listening too in a few months time, but I definitely enjoyed it on the most part. I would say that if you are one of those McFly fans  not listening out of spite or people hating them just because they are not 'cool' enough for you, you should definitely listen to it, even if you just stream it on Spotify or Youtube. Don't write it off before you've given it a chance, like I nearly did, it might just surprise you.

A Quick Christmas Read - Christmas With Billy And Me - Giovanna Fletcher

Wednesday, 3 December 2014

It is finally December which means that I no longer have to hide my Christmas festivities behind closed doors. I have tinsel and fairy lights everywhere and I no longer have to feel ashamed about it. Keeping up with the Christmas spirit I thought I would share with you a lovely little Christmas read by Giovanna Fletcher. This is a little follow on from her title 'Billy And Me' but I don't think you would have had to read it to enjoy the story, but it probably does help.

It is a short story, but it gets you right into the Christmas mood from the offset. I love Giovanna's writing so it was so easy to get into and I read it all whilst in the bath. It it was an uplifting story that made me even more excited (is that even possible) for Christmas. I might even re-read it on Christmas Eve, tis the season and all that.

Have you got any favourite Christmas reads?

Monday, 1 December 2014

It is that time of the year again. Last year I failed miserably but I am giving it another go. Day 1 of Vlogmas is already up and day 2 is uploading as we speak, so I am off to a good start! I have got a few things planned but could do with a few more ideas of things to do.

If you have any suggestions of things I can do to make the vlogs more interesting this December, let me know in the comments.

Boohoo Jumper Order

Sunday, 30 November 2014

When all the cold weather hit this week I was not prepared. I have been meaning to get some nice thick winter jumpers for quite a while but haven't found any that I love or could afford so when Jack Frost graced us with his presence I was straight on Boohoo.com.

I didn't go mental, it is nearly Christmas after all, but I did find two jumpers that I really loved. They are both really good quality, something I get very nervous about when ordering offline, and are nice and cosy ready for the colder weather. They only thing I was slightly disappointed about was the elbow patches, it might be because I have short arms but they are quite low down the arm for me. But they have come just in time for Vlogmas which I attempting again this year after an abysmal attempt last year. I feel a lot more organised with it this year though, so fingers crossed.

Have you seen any perfect winter jumpers around?

Are you doing vlogmas this year?

Makeup Revolution Ultra 32 Shade Eyes Like Angels Palette

Thursday, 27 November 2014

I have a new found love for Makeup Revolution products. You cannot go wrong with any of their eyeshadow palettes, not only is the price awesome the quality is amazing too. So when I walked by the Makeup Revolution stand in Superdrug and saw this palette I knew I had to pick it up.

There are some really bold and bright colours in there but that is what drew me to it as all of my palettes that I already owned were very neutral colours. As like all the other palettes all the colours are really pigmented and blend really nicely. I don't really have much more to say on it. Makeup Revolution can't do no wrong at the moment every product I have bought has become one of my favouritism, this being no exception.

Have you got any Makeup Revolution faves?

Sleek Face Contour Kit

Sunday, 23 November 2014

I was recently on the hunt for a new bronzer and highlighter, as I have pale skin you can probably guess that this was a nightmare. When shopping a few weeks back I actually recommended this product to my sister as she wanted to pick up a bronzer and a highlighter, I had heard so many reviews on this products so I knew it must of been good. My sister fell in love with this product and after trying hers out on my skin, I did too, I would ask her everyday if I could borrow it as it added a lot more depth and warmth to my face. After going back to Cardiff I decided to pick one up for myself. I am so in love with this and I think it's my favourite makeup buy of the year.  I love the packaging of Sleek products, they are very simple but as they say very 'sleek'. When looking at the bronzer colour in the pan, I know it looks very daunting as it looks very dark but I can promise you it's not. The bronzer colour is matte and is the perfect colour for my skin, it's not too muddy looking or too orange, it's just right, it adds so much more warmth and definition to my face. The highlighter is a very subtle shimmer, however the smallest amount on your brush can go a long way, so it is very easy to go wrong, haha. I haven't tried out the blush colour in this product yet as I love pairing my Tarte Blush with this, as it looks so nice. I am so impressed with this product and would definitely recommend it. I also can't believe that it's only £9.99 either, for a blush, a highlighter and a bronzer, bargain. I really do love Sleek products and I can't wait to pick up more.

Netflix Recommendations

Friday, 21 November 2014

As some of you may know, I am a huge lover of Netflix. Over the last few weeks there has been an abundance of new documentaries made available so I though I would let you know some of my favourites.

This is documentary about Seaworld and how they mistreat the Whales that they keep in captivity. It's mind-blowing how they are still getting away with what they are doing and how many peoples lives have paid for it. I had read quite a lot about this documentary before I watched it so a lot of what I saw wasn't a big shock to me but it was still well worth a watch.

Artifact - 30 Seconds To Mars

Another documentary but on a completely different subject. Artifact follows Jared Letto and the rest of his band whilst they record their This Is War album and also get involved in a $30 million lawsuit with their record label. It was really interesting to see what insiders of the industry actually thought about major labels and the way the industry is going.

Do you have any new Netflix recommendations? Let me know in the comments.

Tarte Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Blush

Sunday, 16 November 2014

I don't know where to start with this blush, I recently rediscovered this blush when sorting through my makeup collection. I bought this last year when I went to New York. I went quite nuts in Sephora and spent a lot of money and this was one of the purchases I made.  This was around $26 dollars which is about £17 or £18 I think. I had never used anything from Tarte Cosmetics before but I had heard so many good reviews on their products that I knew I needed to try something. I decided to pick up their Amazonian Clay 12 - Hour Blush, they had a huge range of shades available to choose from in Sephora. I decided to pick up the shade 'Dollface' this colour is so beautiful on pale skin, it's a very pale pink colour. It's perfect for everyday wear as it's very subtle, however it is very buildable if you wanted to opt for a more intense look. These blushers claim to last 12 hours and I feel that they actually do last very long, I don't find myself having to touch up my makeup as much as I would when using any other blusher. I also absolutely love the packaging on these blushers, they are so sturdy but so girly, they usually match the packaging to the colour of the blush, which is a great idea as you can get a general idea of what colour the blush is, without opening the packaging. All in all, I am so impressed with these blushers, it is definitely an essential product in my makeup bag. I will be definitely be picking up more when I visit America next year.

Busy Weekend

Thursday, 13 November 2014

This weekend has been such a hectic one, I haven't had two minutes to sit down. I love           weekends where I actually have plans though, it's always exciting. On Friday night my boyfriend Shane and I went to Shane' sisters house, we ordered food and had a lovely catchup with her and her boyfriend, we didn't end up leaving until around 1am. It was so nice and the hours flew by. Saturday was so hectic, myself and Shane had to sing in our town in the morning, which was just before the welsh rugby game so everything was slightly rushed as Shane didn't want to miss it, haha.  After the rugby we had to travel to Cardiff to watch Abis husbands band 'Fingertrap', they were absolutely amazing as always. I also had the chance to catch up with one of my old friends. I haven't seen her for so long since she started University and it was so nice to finally catch up with her.

Zoella Beauty Fizz Bar - Review

Tuesday, 11 November 2014

When Zoella announced that she was launching her own beauty range I was looking forward to seeing what she had to offer. The packaging and 'look' of her products is beautiful and I had really high hopes for them. You can see a lot of thought and time has gone into the products as a whole.

However I am really disappointed in the Fizz Bar. I love getting home after work and just chilling in a lovely hot bubble bath and I couldn't wait to try out this product. I popped a square into my running bath, it fizzed and disappeared and I was left with no bubbles or smell. I thought I must have used it wrong so waited until the bath was run and tried another square, the same thing happened. I understand that it says bath fizzer and not bath bomb or bubble bar, but I still expected some sort of evidence of it being there. The smell was gone in seconds and I was left with a very unbubbly bath. There was really nothing to it, it fizzed for a few seconds and was gone.

I am gutted that I am writing a bad review on one of Zoella's products and actually considered not writing it at all, but I was so disappointed with it I felt that it would be wrong not to let people know.

Have you tried any Zoella Beauty products? What did you think?

Shop My Samples

Friday, 7 November 2014

I have decided that with Christmas just around the corner that I should put myself on a spending ban when it comes to makeup and beauty products. To try and make this a little easier I thought I would have a dig around and find some of the samples I have accumulated from events and just freebies from beauty counters over the last few months.

I had a lot more than I realised and I think it will be a lot easier not to go out spending when I have so many new products to already try.

I have a lot of Benefit and Clarins products that I have accumulated and haven't even opened so I think I will do a group post on what I think of the Benefit products and then another one on the Clarins.

I am also looking forward to trying out my 7 day sample of Dior foundation that I got from the John Lewis Beauty Event a few weeks ago - Blog Post Here. I think it might take me a while to get through everything though.

Another YouTube Channel?

Wednesday, 5 November 2014

Hi guys, as you may know, I have recently started a YouTube channel, which will mainly revolve around beauty and lifestyle things, I also have another channel, which you may not know about, a singing channel, ooooooh, haha. My boyfriend and I are an acoustic duo. We went through a phase where we would upload lots of videos and then months where we would upload nothing. I'm so annoyed at myself for neglecting this channel as I love singing. We are hopefully going to start recording new covers each week and uploading them. I thought I would share this channel on my blog as singing is a huge passion of mine, I hope you enjoy!

Superdrug Mini Haul

Sunday, 2 November 2014

I accidentally found myself in Superdrug last week and with a basket full of things that I didn't really need, however I did feel like I was in need of a little bit of retail therapy so I treated myself to a few things.

The first things I picked up were the Barry M Gelly Nail Varnishes. I absolutely loved the colours and I am a sucker for a new Barry M Nail Varnish. The colours were Chai and Mustard and they go really well together.

Next I picked up the Makeup Revolution Eyes Like Angels Eyeshadow Pallete. I had gone back and forth to this palette a few times but it was such a bargain with 32 shades for £8 I couldn't leave it there. It came in handy for my Halloween Look too!

And then last but not least, I gave in to the hype, I got a Zoella Beauty Fizz Bar. If you read this blog a lot you will know that myself and Savannah are massive Lush Cosmetics fans and it takes a lot for me to try a completely new brand, especially with bath stuff as I have super sensitive skin, but it was Zoella and it looked so nice.

I was going to do more photos of each individual product but I have decided to keep those for separate review posts when I get around to using them all.

What have you bought from Superdrug lately? Any must have recommendations?

Halloween Makeup Tutorial

Friday, 31 October 2014

Blogtober is now officially over, how sad. Myself and Abi have really enjoyed taking part in Blogtober and it has really pushed and challenged us. I decided for the last day of Blogtober to start a Youtube channel, which is slightly scary but also exciting. I can't wait to start making videos and uploading them. As it's halloween, see if you can guess what I decided to do for my first video.

Happy Halloween Guys!!!

Halloween Makeup Tutorial

Thursday, 30 October 2014

So yesterday Savannah convinced me to make a makeup tutorial video. I don't know why I said yes because as you can see it didn't go very well. I have only been wearing makeup for around 2 years and I still don't wear it every day, only if I'm having a really bad skin day or I am going out somewhere that I need to look somewhat presentable, so I kind of just slap it on and go. I didn't have an exact look I was going for it was just a bit of lets see how it turns out but at least I did look a little scary.

So if you wanted to have a look at the video it is below and if you click though you will be able to catch up on my normal challenge and vlogging videos that I usually upload. Now that Savannah is setting up her own channel and I have a bit more time to do videos, we will both be uploading lots more and hopefully sticking to my schedule of at least one video every Wednesday. So don't forget to subscribe :)

The Rosie Effect - Review - October Book Club Read Along

It is finally the end of my October Book Club Read Along. I don't really know if anyone did actually read along and join in but if you did what did you think?

The main reason I chose The Rosie Effect by Graeme Simsion was because I loved the first book. Don's voice throughout the book was hilarious and his relationship with Rosie really made you want keep reading.

I did enjoy this book but not as much as the first. I found Rosie's character a little annoying and the situations Don got himself into were slightly unbelievable. The fact that he didn't see any problem at all with filming children in a park, even with his inability to adapt to social situations, I saw as highly improbable.

I did like the end of the book and the way the whole story was resolved. As I said before I did actually enjoy the book, I just think I had such high expectations from the previous book that the story just lacked something for me.

How did you find it?
Were the characters and storyline believable for you?
What did you think of the ending?

Sophie's Creperie Cardiff Review

Tuesday, 28 October 2014

Myself, Savannah and Shane all headed to Cardiff this weekend to try and start our Christmas shopping. It wasn't a very productive day but we did get to try out Sophie's, a creperie in one of the smaller arcades, High Street Arcade.

I ordered a mocha and a nutella crepe with Shane opting for a white mocha and an egg and cheese crepe and Savannah having just a nutella crepe. Everything tasted great and was really filling, the people working there were lovely too!

The downstairs seating area is really cosy and quirky. All the wall art was for sale which was awesome and the seating was so comfortable I didn't want to get up and go back out in to the cold.

Mini Mac Cosmetics Haul

Monday, 27 October 2014

Myself, Abi and my boyfriend Shane decided to have a wander around Cardiff today, looking at what we could buy as christmas presents for other people. This was a huge fail as we ended up buying things for ourselves instead, haha. Myself and Abi decided to drag Shane in to the new Mac shop in Cardiff that has not long opened. It looks amazing in there and I had to stop myself from buying everything. However it was quite packed in the store so we decided to head over to the Mac makeup counter in Debenhams as we thought this would be a little more quiet.  I knew exactly which lipstick I wanted to get as I had seen it on someone the night before and instantly fell in love and had not shut up about it, haha. My boyfriend very kindly offered to get me this lipstick as he knew how much I had wanted it, he also offered to pick me up a lip liner to match, what a lovely guy. I was so grateful and I ended up walking away with 'Heroine' Lipstick and 'Magenta' Lipliner.  These colours are amazing, they are both a very bold purple colour and I think they will look amazing for the Autumn. I am hoping to create a Halloween makeup tutorial at the end of the week using these products, I think they are also perfect for a Halloween look.

7 Deadly Sins of Beauty Tag

Sunday, 26 October 2014

Greed: What is your most expensive beauty item? What is your most inexpensive beauty item?

I always find little beauty bargains which I end up loving. I recently bought the Natural Collection Lash Length Mascara, this was only around £1.99, which was a bargain and I love it. My most expensive beauty item is probably my Makeup Forever Foundation, I have to order this online as they don't stock it anywhere near where I live. This costs £35, which I find is expensive for a foundation but totally worth it as it's my favourite foundation ever.

Wrath: What beauty products do you have a love/hate relationship with?
I have a love/hate relationship with eyeliners for some strange reason. I can never seem to find one which will last all day. It usually either smudges off or creases and looks awful. If anyone has any ideas, send them my way, haha.

It Always Seems Impossible, Until It Is Done

Saturday, 25 October 2014

The last few years have seen the biggest changes I have ever faced. I graduated University, I got married and I opened up my own Photography studio. They have also been the hardest most stressful years ever and I don't think I have ever worked so hard for anything and struggled to achieve anything as much before.

Sometimes I find myself thinking, is it all worth it, is it all going to work out. But the more I think about it, the more I realise how far I have come and how much I have achieved in such a short space of time. Sure some months we struggle to pay rent and some months I think it probably would have been easier if I had just bit the bullet and got myself a nice and easy 9-5 job with a steady income, working for someone else. But then there would always be the what if's and the could have been's and being unhappy everyday doing a job I hated.

Starting a YouTube Channel?

Friday, 24 October 2014

I have been thinking about this for far too long. Over the last few years I have watched YouTubers come from a small channel and doing something as a hobby turn into internet superstars, which is crazy. It is so true that the internet is taking over the world.

Gone Girl Film Review

Thursday, 23 October 2014

I finally got the chance to go and watch Gone Girl in the cinema this week after reading the book and being desperate to see how it adapted to film. You can see my review of the book here.

Now I know there is a lot of talk over the ending not being great, and the book had the same issue, but I don't see it as a massive deterrent for either. It isn't what I was expecting and it isn't what I would have wanted to happen, but I can see it as a plausible ending for these characters. The film made it slightly more believable than the book and you could really feel Nick Dunn's struggle but it is what it is.

My favourite part of October, apart from it being Autumn, is that I get to dress up for Halloween. Even though I still don't have any plans yet for the actual day I am still looking forward to dressing up as something scary.

What are your plans for halloween? What's your favourite part?

The 90's Tag

Sunday, 19 October 2014

I know I am slightly late with this tag, many people have done this. I only really decided to do this tag after coming across some of my favourite 90's TV shows a few weeks ago. It's weird looking back at how bad some of the shows were, but how much I loved them, haha. I was born in the 90's and thought this tag would be so much fun.

Favourite Disney Movie?
In the 90's it was probably Beauty and the Beast, according to my mother I used to sit and watch this film all the time.

                                                              Favourite Music Artist?
Can you guess? SPICE GIRLS!!!! I was a hardcore fan of the Spice Girls, I had umbrellas, rain coats, dresses, everything. I was obsessed with Baby Spice as I had blonde hair, every time my friends and I would pretend to be Spice Girls, I always had to be Baby Spice, haha. I also loved Steps, they were another favourite band of mine.

Favourite Candy/Sweets?
I don't think I had one particular favourite sweet, I used to love going to the sweetshop and getting a 50p mix.

Tanya Burr Lipgloss Review

Saturday, 18 October 2014

I know I am extremely late in talking about these products, as these were released at the start of the year. I thought I would write about them now as she is about to release a new batch of products which I am very excited to try out.  Your probably all extremely aware of who Tanya Burr is, if not, where have you been? haha, for those of you that don't know, Tanya Burr is a lifestyle and beauty vlogger on YouTube. She has now branched out and decided to design her own makeup products, which I think is such a good idea.

A/W Playlist

Thursday, 16 October 2014

One thing I love about A/W is being cuddled up in the warm, candles burning with a good book and some good music. It's a quite chilled out playlist as I don't really want to be raving out on these dark cold nights and it's a mixture of big artists and unsigned local bands that I love.

What new music are you loving? Let me know and I will be updating the playlist when I find more I love.

Soap & Glory Solar Powder - Review

Wednesday, 15 October 2014

Where to start with this bronzer, I am absolutely obsessed with this product. I came across this when watching one of Gabby's (Velvetgh0st) YouTube videos and she was raving about how good it was, I knew I had to get it as she completely sold it to me after explaining how good it was for pale skin. Soon as I heard that, that was it for me, I was sold. It's very hard for me to try and find a bronzer that doesn't make my face look like I have smeared mud across it or one that doesn't make me look like an Oompa Loompa, haha. Usually bronzers are too red toned or too orange toned for me. I picked this up in Boots when they were holding a 3 for 2 offer on all Soap & Glory beauty products, I thought this was the perfect opportunity to buy it. I also picked up Brow Archery and Kick Ass Concealer, which are both amazing.
